Plus babys age?

Today was my first proper day alone by myself with 3 week old where I have had no visits from GP, HV, Midwife, yay. So far we went back to bed after sending my two year old off to childcare, I read a bit of a book for the first time in 2 years! Then been for a walk, had a coffee, home for lunch and now watching Harry Potter whilst DC2 snoozes on my tummy. Baby moon Bliss! Although I remember some really hairy days with Dc1 so am taking the good days where I can....

What have you been up to?

My baby is nearly 7 months. We've done the school run and played on the floor for a while listened to some music and had a bounce in the jumperoo. Bought the dogs for a walk and he fell asleep in his buggy and is still there nearly 2 hours later. So I've been catching up on the Durells. We're having a quiet week as he was in hospital with Bronchiolitis at the weekend.

Curiosity101 · 29/01/2020 14:15

I've just got the one - he's 5 months on Friday.

Today we got up with DH at 6.20 so baby could have his morning feed. Then went back to bed till 9.30 cause DS woke up a couple of times in the night (didn't need anything but woke me up in the process), so I was tired.

Since then it's just been the usual. Tidying, cleaning, feeding, playing etc. I think he might be teething though as he's been extra grouchy and tired. He's currently asleep on me which is very unusual as he normally wants to be put down in his cot to sleep.

We've got into a nice little routine now though so I plan to start a qualification in the near future, I should have it before my Mat leave finishes hopefully Grin

Your day sounds lovely by the way. Smile

moobar · 29/01/2020 14:15

15 months but having few years out after years of struggles and losses.

Both full of cold so pottered this morning. Shared lunch and now cosied in for nap watching NT awards from last night.

shivbo2014 · 29/01/2020 14:16

Congratulations on your baby! The first few weeks are so lovely!

smeerf · 29/01/2020 14:25

Not on mat leave yet, but curious about what it's going to be like with a two year old as that'll be me in May. Sounds pretty good! How many days is your toddler in childcare?

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 29/01/2020 14:26

@moobar sorry to hear of your losses Flowers. how wonderful you and DC that you are having an extended period off. I hope you both feel better soon

She's just turned 6 months. After breakfast & nap we've done some chores round the house while Dd played then we've been for a walk to the shops, library and round the park. Lunch then a bit of singing & playing with DD. Going to drop her into MIL'a shortly so I can go for a quick run!

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 29/01/2020 14:28

@smeerf he's in for 8 hours (7.30-3.30) Tues to Thurs. It's been lovely so far, although him and DH have stayed home until now. Friday will be the first time I have both kids solo 😬

DS2 was born Monday, we dropped DS1 off at nursery so he could show the baby to his friends, then came home and breastfed/changed nappies/mumsnetted on sofa. DH has just made lunch, we took in turns to eat/hold baby. Having a rest till 3 then going to have a quick tidy up before DS1 comes home from nursery.

Tobebythesea · 29/01/2020 15:23

Baby is nearly 6 months. We went food shopping, read some books, I made some purée, we played and I started some online mandatory training (starting new job soon).

Ilovethekitties · 29/01/2020 15:26

Six week old here! We went to see GO for six week am check, baby sensory class and then for a long walk! I have cleaned the house and done an online shop. Productive.

Primrose89 · 29/01/2020 15:27

Ds is 10 months. We got up at 7.30, he had a nap from 9-10 while I got ready and then we went to parents and toddlers, came home for lunch, he napped 1.30 til I woke him at 3, and now we're playing on the floor!

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 29/01/2020 17:35

DD is 5 months old (3.5 corrected). I also have DS who is 3.

We went to clinic to get DD weighed, there's a sort of stay and play session there so DS pottered with the toys while i fed DD.

Normally DS has pre school in the afternoon on wednesdays but he's been coughing at night and was tired so today I kept him home, DD slept 2 hours after lunch and DS and i had a Julia Donaldson telly marathon. Then we all went to the park when DD woke up.

Oh and I made a cake when we got home!

OhioOhioOhio · 29/01/2020 17:35

Getting pregnant!

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 29/01/2020 17:36

Fyi smeerf my just 3 year old 4 pre school sessions a week - 3 hours a day. It works nicely.

cattaxi · 29/01/2020 17:42

Ds2 is 3 months. We took ds1 to school first thing - walk & sling. Then ds2 napped & I tried to catch some sleep after a bad night. Played on the mat for a bit this morning & then he had another nap while we went out for lunch with my mum.
Dd rang while we were out & I had to collect her from school as she was unwell.
A bit more play this afternoon. Lots of giggles! He’s having another nap and I’ve tidied up & made dinner ready for later on. Ds1 is with my parents after school, so things are a bit more chilled than usual today!
Enjoy those lovely newborn days. They go so fast!

Erismorn · 29/01/2020 17:53

Three months old today. Up, made sure five year old was getting ready for school, breakfast etc. Baby woke up, got her changed and dressed, gave her a bit of a feed and out the door.

Did the school run, home and cleaned up the kitchen, sorted some laundry and did some tidying up. Feed poop feed cycle, then popped her down for a nap.

My mum came over at 11am, we hemmed some curtains and had some lunch around playing with/feeding baby. Out at 3pm for school pick up. Home, finished off third pair of curtains, tidied up, dinner on. Eating now then will be bath and bed. Insert several more feeds and nappy changes at random intervals I breed milk monsters

DH is at work till 2am so it's all me today. Normally he cooks and does the housework 😂

Leftie624 · 29/01/2020 17:57

Up at 6.30am with both of mine. Breakfast then DS2 (9 months) went up for a nap. Me and DS1 (2 years) read some books. When DS2 woke up we went out shopping, then it was lunch...out to pick up my mum then a couple of hours in a play cafe. Home, tea and bed and bath time starts at 6pm. Enjoy your newborn snuggles things get really interesting once your second baby is on move! X

SidsWife · 29/01/2020 18:00

My son was born in Halloween. He’s been to Uni with me today and learnt about the psychology behind bullying in schools Grin

PooWillyBumBum · 29/01/2020 18:05

I’m pregnant and started mat leave last week.

I helped DH get ready for work by ironing his shirt, then lay down for an hour, midwife appointment, hang laundry, lunch in Pret on my own with a book, wandered around town for a couple of hours buying bits, home for an hours nap, went to pick up DD from bus stop and now waiting for birth pool to be delivered before we go out for supper at a cheap local pub. Enjoying calm before storm!

puds11 · 29/01/2020 18:07

7 months, has slapped cheek so I have been a comfort blanket all day. She’s just had a bath and am currently bf. Have seen her sister for all of an hour between school and swimming club.

PixieDustt · 29/01/2020 18:10

DS 6.5 months old.

Got up about 6:30 breakfast and bottle.
Had a little play in his jumperoo. On his front for a while afterwards learning to crawl (VERY nearly there!) Grin and play time.
Had a little nap and when he woke up popped to the local shops, had a walk and went to the park.
Lunch and again play time until he got tired and napped from 2:30-4 play time again. Bathed and just had a bottle ready for bed 🥰

PixieDustt · 29/01/2020 18:10

I forgot to add he has dinner 🤣

Dancingandthedreaming · 29/01/2020 18:15

7 month old baby here, got fed while I did before school reading and music practice with siblings, school run, napped in sling while I did laundry (endless with 4 dc). Out to baby friendly exercise class, round supermarket then a nice nap in the afternoon while I did more laundry and cooked tea. Quick feed then school run . Afternoon tea with siblings then she had a tiny play with others and I finally got to sit down. She was overtired by tea time but no choice but to jolly her through tea. Now my next challenge is bath time bedtime for 4 including an overtired baby. DH not usually home in time to help so by the end of the evening routine I'm fully done in and ready for my bed!

Chottie · 29/01/2020 18:18

It's lovely to read all about your baby days. It brings back so many happy memories as my DCs are well and truly grown and flown :)
