See diagram below. I WFH and have no life but I'm pretty sure this will be entertaining to the Mumsnet parking thread folk!

House A, no car but X denotes the allocated disabled spot so he can be collected via a side entrance from his house.
House B, one car, has to park with car door level with front door, meaning she always uses space 1&2. Most people are afraid to park here. If someone does, she parks touching their bumper, in some kind of laying down the law attempt and stands there shouting "who's is this?" and similar nonsense.
House C, one car but not usually home, so is either forced to park in space X or further along from X, where there are two spaces in front of a garage.
House D, one car. Usually gets home first so gets space 3.
House E, house with drive.
House F, car but no drive. Usually parks in space 4.
House G, H, I, J have drives.
House K have two cars and no drive. They have been frequently told they are taking over the street and are not allowed to park in space 5, as it blocks house Gs drive and does not allow House F to park in space 4. I do point out that this has the same impact as house F parking in space 4 on me, but apparently not.
House L, house with drive (me).
House M, drive but no car.
House N, house with drive.

Houses B, F, G and M frequently have street gossips/meetings/bitching sessions declaring that people who haven't lived here for a billion years like them, are taking over, who do they think they are, they can't just park where they like etc etc.

So, if you're still with me, this brings me to today. In a spectacular turn of events, house K, who give no shits about fake parking laws, have parked in space 4. Their other car is further along in front of garage, as well as an unknown car.

House F have now come home parked kind of across both X and space 1 (basically leaving house Bs usual space for them). They are watching non stop to ensure they get their space back.

Very unusually, house C is home and has parked in space 2.

So. There is no space left in the street and house B, the most precious and hysterical have nowhere to park. They will return at 10pm.

This actually keeps me entertained daily. Sad I know.

Please say that you're watching all of this in the comfort of your house @originalcatlady with the lights off so they can't see you. 😆

Lweji · 28/01/2020 22:15

It looks like I've found the thread at the right time.

originalcatlady · 28/01/2020 22:16

B is now on pavement talking to DH, car still in road running with door open.

"What's going on"
H shrugs
"Well whose is that car"
H shrugs
"Whose is it, which house is it at?"
H shrugs
"Is because of them again." (Points at K in 4)
H nods
"Absolutely ridiculous this again"

I'd like to point out my windows are closed

TopOftheNaughtyList

Thank you for the annotated diagram!

whoopstheregomyinsides · 28/01/2020 22:16

What are the other options for B? If by revving up and down, she is unable to dissolve the already parked cars?

Chattycatty · 28/01/2020 22:17

Sounds like B rules H with an iron fist 😂

LittleDragonGirl · 28/01/2020 22:17

What on earth is your poor DH doing standing outside? Or is he just going for the best view in the street Grin

OP, are you going to share this thread with K? Grin

PassMeAnotherCoffee · 28/01/2020 22:19

"I'd like to point out my windows are closed" I'm glad they've been practising their voice projection skills.

Can you see everyone else twitching behind their curtains? Or sneakily opening those slits in the blinds just a wee bit wider?

originalcatlady · 28/01/2020 22:19

She's still screeching about what she can do but now she's blocking someone so she's getting back in.

I'll bet someone's car will be keyed by the morning

WhatchaMaCalllit · 28/01/2020 22:19

Oh I hope she's going to knock on K's door and demand they move (they don't have to) and she has to park elsewhere tonight.

StarspaXxX · 28/01/2020 22:19

Any gear change, OP? Grin

originalcatlady · 28/01/2020 22:20

Oh I'm clearly not the only one watching.

OnceUponATime000 · 28/01/2020 22:20

She's got to start knocking on doors next.

LittleDragonGirl · 28/01/2020 22:20

That makes sense, excuse my confusion I'm tired but too entertained to put my phone down. I feel rather sorry for her poor DH!

HorseFlyOfExtraordinaryLength · 28/01/2020 22:21

This is my first parking thread and its fabulous.

Doggodogington · 28/01/2020 22:21

Excellent diagram and descriptions OP. I have it pictured clearly in my mind.
So, the drives obviously have dropped kerbs but is there room between them to fit a car? 🤔

originalcatlady · 28/01/2020 22:21

Driven off again in the wrong gear, sounding like a boy racer

I agree you should share this with K - just print it off and slip it through her letterbox.

She deserves to know her work is appreciated.
