To ask how much you pay for contact lenses and where from?

Mundane I know but I desperately need to order some contact lenses on a budget. Please could you tell me where and what you get if you have a good provider?

I use acuvue oasys.

I try to order them from Lens store or feel good contacts when they are on a deal - but they are an expensive lens. They’re lots of cheaper options but I do like them.

Another fan of Acuvue Oasys. They're a bit more expensive but I get on well with them. I usually order from wherever I can get next day delivery as I usually leave it until the last minute

I order from vision direct. They’re reasonable I find.

Vision Express for £32 a month. Fiance uses Lens Store which is cheaper, but we both use Acuvue's and his are always noticeably older than mine, and he has a lot more unwearable pairs. He also has to pay for eye tests/contact lense checks etc, whereas I get everything included, and 4 extra sets a month

But it's horses for courses and if price alone was the biggest consideration, I don't know if I'd stick with Acuvues.

I order from daysoft. Go for the silk range as they have more moisture but really reasonably priced

Another who uses Acuvue oasys and buy from lens store. I like the quick delivery and fact they fit through the letterbox!

Day soft here too. Only £12 for 32 pairs and no contract needed.

I use acuvue oasys for astigmatism, I buy them from vision direct. For 3 months supply of fortnightly contacts & contact lens fluid it’s £60 (£55 with student discount)

Specsavers. I actually wear glasses day to day but a months worth of contacts for me would be about £30.

When I first went for a trial though they tried to get me to sign up to have them on direct debit and it would have cost me nearly nearly £150 every three months (even though I told them repeatedly I only wanted them for special occasions). I have no idea where they got that price!

I went back a second time, saw someone different and was given the first price I posted above.

I only wear lenses for nights out so I don't wear them for more than 6 hours every few weeks. I buy Crystal Aqua from contact lenses.co.uk for £6.99 + £3 delivery. They're very cheap yes but I've honestly never had any sort of problem with them and have been buying them for probably 6+ years. I'm lucky to have only a very slight difference in both my eyes so as my optician recommended just one box of the same prescription when buying from him this is what I've kept doing since which is why I can buy them so cheap. A box of 30 lenses lasts me more than 6 months!

Have also used focus dailies from there too.

Vision Direct here too. I'm a sporadic user - some weeks I might wear them every day and then not wear them for three weeks, so I just buy a couple of boxes at a time. I use Everclear ADM.

I used to order online from 'daysoft' which was very cheap, and claimed to have cheaper, no-name versions of well known brands. These worked very well for years, BUT, eventually my eyes couldn't cope. I ended up get a bullseye red eye each time I wore them, and ended up at the emergency department of an eye hospital!!! Turns out that eyes will cope as long as they can, but the cheapies didn't provide enough oxygen to my eye and caused major issue.

I now use dailies total, which apparently provide far more oxygen/moisture than other brands. I can't recall where I last bought them, but online after comparing many websites.

AnyFucker Can I ask how you get contact lens from Asda? (just looking now!) ..not showing anything on their normal website. Do you have a link?

I'm with Lenstore, it's about £28 a month.

Daysoft £13 for a month supply. I've been using them for years and I highly recommend them.

Acuvue Oasys through Boots opticians. I think it's about £20/month. You get free eye tests and contact lense checks included and a discount on glasses.

@Elouera I had a similar and quite terrifying experience due to Daysoft. Now buy mine via lens tore or vision express, but interested to know about Asda too, that would be sooo handy

I pay £18 a month for Irisan Toric lenses but for that I get a pair of lenses a bottle of solution, and a new case every month (delivered by post every 3 months).

As part of the deal I also get 2 pairs replacement lenses a year if I need them, a free contact lens checks every year or more often if needed, a free eye test every 2 years and a free or discounted pair of glasses every 2 years.

I'm sure I could save a few quid doing it myself but not worth the hassle.

Just found Asda online opticians, just a heads up you need to provide valid prescription before an order is accepted. I will be trialling these definitely

I also use DaySoft. I recently went to a decent opticians as I spend all day in front of a screen and felt I really should take better care of my eyes. I went in all prepared to sign up for "proper" lenses, the optician said my eyes were perfectly healthy and I may as well save the money and stick with DaySoft.

The only think I would say is it's a pain to remember the regular checks - I'm so used to them hassling me and threatening not to dispense to me if I don't have the check up that the first year I was 18 months between before I remembered
