Scrambled eggs on toast - 1 slice or 2

Extremely riveting question.

I normally go for 1 slices on normal brown bread as 2 slices would be way too much. Normally have something on the side like a few slices of chorizo to fill me up.

Sister insists 2 slices is the norm. I'd be bloated for hours

What about you

2 I’m an adult!

1 is for my toddlers

PrincessHoneysuckle · 23/01/2020 11:18

2 slices of toast with 3 scrambled eggs

SassenachWitch · 23/01/2020 11:19

I prefer fried egg on toast 😋
2 x eggs 2 x toast.

Beamur · 23/01/2020 11:20

Depends on the size of the bread!

Ashtower · 23/01/2020 11:21

Beamur- bog standard hovis

1 slice. 2 large eggs (or possibly 3 medium ones).

PawPawNoodle · 23/01/2020 11:22

2 slices of toast, either 2 or 3 eggs for the scramble.

It doesn't really matter what any of us have though, does it. If you find bread bloating then you would obviously have less of it and add another component to fill you up. There isn't really a need for the over-eating subtone to your post, either.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 23/01/2020 11:22

One toast, 3 eggs. Why ruin the eggs with too much toast Grin

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 23/01/2020 11:22

Just the scrambled eggs on their own: I don't eat bread Smile

shellysheridan · 23/01/2020 11:22

I agree with 2 slices of toast and 3 eggs

inwood · 23/01/2020 11:22

Depends on how many eggs.

bellabasset · 23/01/2020 11:23

I usually buy 400gm loaves, a light wholemeal from a local baker so have two smaller slices with organic eggs, and smoked salmon or crispy bacon

SHAR0N · 23/01/2020 11:24

2 eggs and tomatoes with no toast

Ashtower · 23/01/2020 11:24

the over-eating subtone to your post

Oh, give over!

(2 medium eggs)

There isn't really a need for the over-eating subtone to your post, either. This.
Also I'd see a dr if you'd genuinely be bloated for hours, it doesn't seem normal.

I have coeliac disease so don't have toast.

namechangingtime · 23/01/2020 11:25

Two eggs scrambled with milk and butter on top of two pieces of toast. Enough to make the toast soggy and create little sandwiches.

Everanewbie · 23/01/2020 11:29

Surely it depends on the size of your bread, and the size of your appetite!

If you are trying to lose/maintain weight, people should be mindful of the extra calories in the 2nd slice of bread, maybe adding 100 calories or more to the meal. But if the overall calorie content fits what you are trying to achieve then eat 1 slice if thats enough, or 2 if thats what you need.

Ashtower · 23/01/2020 11:29

My eggs contain a fair amount of butter so I prefer a richer meal - have never been overly fond of toast.

My sister is slim so know it's not overeating. Just curious as we were both adamant our preference was the norm.

One slice of toast and scrambled egg?

Good grief woman, are you trying to explode?

I sniff the bread before putting it back, lick the eggshell and I am full for a week.

Tombliwho · 23/01/2020 11:30

A good old mumsnet eating thread. "Bloated for hours" oh the drama.

BecauseReasons · 23/01/2020 11:33

Ha! I'd have between 2 and 4, depending on hunger. Only time I'd have one is if I ran out of bread.

AryaStarkWolf · 23/01/2020 11:33

2 please, preferably on white bread Grin

Bunnylady54 · 23/01/2020 11:34

2 slices buttered wholemeal/granary toast & 2 eggs scrambled with a little milk & maybe a sprinkle of dried herbs. I rarely have it & no idea why as it’s delicious, healthy & filling.

edwinbear · 23/01/2020 11:34

1 slice, 2 large eggs. And brown sauce.

eandz13 · 23/01/2020 11:36

Just me who has 3 brown Hovis sensations and 3 eggs? Ok then 🐷
