Brought/bought
His/he's
Borrow/lend
Are all awful, but what really annoys me is when people just get sentences completely wrong, as in: the dog needs fed. NO. It's the dog needed to be fed or the dog needs feeding 😠

cittigirl · 23/01/2020 17:29

CallmeBadJanet · 23/01/2020 17:36

On the current series of Celebrity Coach trip, one contestant talked about his trip on a catamarang, another went through a big learning kerb, and two contestants were finger-skaters.😂

TheWickerWoman · 23/01/2020 17:37

‘Trickle treating’ at Halloween Confused

Jesi98 · 23/01/2020 17:38

All of these are my pet hates (I am spelling and grammar police only in my head, to my husband, or my dyslexic friends that likes me to check her spelling)
My boss cannot say ‘Camembert’ he pronounces it Canonbert 🤣
Also a person on Facebook that constantly writes ‘manors cost nothing’ aaaarghhhh 😣

MyHeartIsInCornwall · 23/01/2020 17:38

On the ‘Nevaeh’ theme, I know of a girl named Niamh...pronounced, ‘Ny-mer’. Interesting interpretation.

twigglett99 · 23/01/2020 17:41

Poker dots for polka dots. Hear it so often and makes me cringe

Ahardyfool · 23/01/2020 17:41

@Letseatgrandma oh god yes

It makes myself soo freaking annoyed when office colleagues do this. It’s like they switch off the “ain’t” and “nah” buttons and turn on the affected Upper middle class switch.

Glosgran · 23/01/2020 17:44

My Dad had a neighbour who said that as the ventilation was poor, they woke up in the morning with 'constipation' on the bedroom window.

popsydoodle4444 · 23/01/2020 17:46

This gem on facebook selling

Sofa cum bed 😱

Whoever buys it better have a decent steam cleaner 😉

completelylostit · 23/01/2020 17:46

My favourite is noone.

Flipflopalops · 23/01/2020 17:46

Some regions say hospickle ...it sounds ridiculous coming from a grown man Smile

Flipflopalops · 23/01/2020 17:49

& my daughter who's 21 & fairly intelligent , has started saying "gotten" all the time ! Drives me mad

Flipflopalops · 23/01/2020 17:51

Or the classic when people say that there's a "Pacific" reason or something

Jeeperscreepers69 · 23/01/2020 17:53

My cousin worked in a department store in the 80s. I went in to see her on her 2nd week. She was on the lingerie department. She opened her arms and said "welcome to my lingery department" ive never forgotten it. My friends mouth just fell open who i was with.

EbbandTheWanderingHearts · 23/01/2020 17:54

I work in care. I frequently see "Client gone in to Rest bite" written on the care notes. It's respite FFS!

SamSoSer · 23/01/2020 17:55

I love a good malapropism....
On Facebook at Halloween “Trickle Treating” and an episode of Come Dine With Me “ The Pierce de wrist dance”😂

322yellowcarnations · 23/01/2020 17:56

Bought instead of brought.
Brought instead of bought.
Reguly and particuly (Jeremy Vine is especially good at these).

Localocal · 23/01/2020 17:59
