Help - I have a huge spot!!

I have a huge spot on my face and it's agony. I don't really care how it looks (I'm working from home for the next few days) but it's blind so doesn't have a head and it really hurts. It's right by the side of my nose and very red and about 7mm across. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting it to either come to a head or get it to fuck off completely?

Put some toothpaste on it
Usually works for me not sure why, sometimes it just helps to feel like I've done something 😂

SisterAgathaVanHelsing · 19/01/2020 17:18

Toothpaste, if that's all you've got, and DO NOT touch it.

onanothertrain · 19/01/2020 17:19

Tea tree oil

stopgap · 19/01/2020 17:19

Are you able to get a cortisone shot?

BabbleBee · 19/01/2020 17:19

Hot compress

BillywigSting · 19/01/2020 17:21

Get the thinnest sharpest needle you own, heat it until it glows (sterilise it) and lance the fucker. Wash your hands very thoroughly first though obviously.

Wash the area, lance and then squeeze it gently until only bright red blood comes out, being careful to not get the gunk on your surrounding skin (use a bit of cotton wool). It will sting like a bastard but the relief is immense (and the squeeze very satisfying!)

I've had a few of these and it's the only way I've ever manged to get shot of them. Be careful not to touch it again after and maybe stick a bit of tea tree on it if it's not too sore.

Wonkybanana · 19/01/2020 17:27

Ibuprofen (Nurofen) will stop it hurting and reduce the swelling, and works quickly.

AriadnesFilament · 19/01/2020 17:32

Alternate hot compress with cold
Acid toner
Facial oil

Repeat hot compress and facial oil until head appears.

butterpuffed · 19/01/2020 17:37

Magnesium Sulphate [Boots/Superdrug etc] to bring it to a head , Sudacrem once it's burst to help it heal.

Northernsoullover · 19/01/2020 17:39

Don't go sticking anything in it. Ibuprofen.

Lordfrontpaw · 19/01/2020 17:40

Don’t pick at it or give it a hard squeeze - you will just get a huge scab and it will look worse than a mega pimple! Maybe try a compress?

mummmy2017 · 19/01/2020 18:02

Hot cotton wool, heat it in microwave.

Skyecat · 19/01/2020 18:13

Witch Hazel stick.

Toodeloo · 19/01/2020 18:19

I get loads of them all the time. It’s cystic Acne for me. Don’t touch it, it’ll either go away by itself or it’ll eventually come to a head. They are sore, there’s not really a way around it (imagine having up to 15 of them at a time) and that size really isn’t that big. If it’s really bothering you, sometimes crushing an aspirin into a paste and smearing it on over night helps reduce them drastically. But DO NOT squeeze it or stick anything in it.

spongebunnyfatpants · 19/01/2020 18:21

Any antiseptic cream will help bring it to a head or take it down.

Alsoco · 19/01/2020 18:21

I’m going to sound mental but vicks vapo rub! 🙈

Babypug · 19/01/2020 18:22

Neutrogena light pen 🙌🏼

Yarboosucks · 19/01/2020 18:22

A good covering of sudocreme. Don't runb it in, just put it on the cleansed skin and leave it all night.

Mumshappy · 19/01/2020 18:24

I've just had one right next to my nose too. Really sore. I just ignored it until a small head appeared then put a warm flannel on it.

SlayB · 19/01/2020 18:29

The solution is a blister plaster the next morning it will be to a head.

Whyhaveidonethis · 19/01/2020 18:37

Thanks all. @Babypug what is a light pen? I've taken some ibuprofen

@Toodeloo I feel for you. I tend to get them after I ovulate before AF comes, one or two at a time. It's making my whole face ache. I cat imagine having 15.

So many options. I'd normally go for sticking a pin in it, but I don't think that does any good, I always end up looking like a scabby cow for 10 days after.

I will see which of these solo unions I have the ingredients for.

Not sure I can do Vicks though, I just looked at mine and it went out of date in 2001!!!!

It's a led light pen, out it on the spot 3 times a day for a minute or so and it disappears. Hardly get spots but if I do and it needs some help then that's my new go to. No bruised skin, infected spot, scabbing or scarring.

Another vote for Magnesium Sulphate.

I used it on a bartolin cyst. Left overnight and by morning it was leaking a river of pus.

Thingsdogetbetter · 19/01/2020 18:42

Retinol. Mine reduce by half if I dab on and leave over night. 2 nights in a row max though or you'll just end up with skin burn instead of zit.

chrissycn11 · 19/01/2020 18:54

Retinol is brilliant, works over night for me.
