Transgender dolls

AIBU to think this is wrong?

OP posts:
WeeSleekitTimerousMoosey · 19/01/2020 11:05

The problem with the hair is that babies just don't have hair that long regardless of sex. Coupled with the baby's body it is just creepy. Bit like the unnaturally proportioned Bratz type dolls are creepy.

CoolCarrie · 19/01/2020 11:06

I don’t think that’s a trans gender doll, someone has put the wrong head on the doll, simple as that!

Fallsballs · 19/01/2020 11:06

Load of balls OP

Oldishusernewname · 19/01/2020 11:08

NewName73 I would hope this bullshit would be given short shrift on any board. It just smacks of an attempt to make us all look like hysterical, trans-hating idiots and makes any sort of conversation about actual issues even more difficult

TheGreatWave · 19/01/2020 11:11

Child’s dolls have no genitalia and for good reason.

My 30 plus year old (fisher price) doll has male anatomy.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/01/2020 11:22

TheGreatWave
Shock. I stand corrected.

karencantobe · 19/01/2020 11:30

Most dolls do not have genitals. Most parents are not going to buy dolls with genitals whatever those genitals are.

karencantobe · 19/01/2020 11:31

And I agree the doll is creepy looking. That face and the curls of hair look awful.

TheGreatWave · 19/01/2020 11:37

Probably wouldn't get the same now.

Goviggirl · 19/01/2020 11:43

I had a pair of twin dolls in the 70's, one boy one girl both with genitalia. Carrie & Christopher they came with little carrycots.

Deadposhtory · 19/01/2020 11:47

I had to laugh 😂

GrolliffetheDragon · 19/01/2020 11:47

The main problem with that doll is it's just creepy looking.

Like coming alive and stabbing you in your sleep creepy looking.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 19/01/2020 11:48

LOL boys have little willies

doublebarrellednurse · 19/01/2020 12:11

So OP, what's the problem?

laudete · 19/01/2020 12:20

I agree with GrolliffetheDragon. The doll's face is beyond creepy. Reminds me of Chucky. Or, an awful clown doll that I refused to have in my bedroom as a child because the face gave me nightmares. My mom had to throw it away.

Purpletigers · 19/01/2020 12:27

Feck me that’s awful. No sensible parent would buy that for their child and the ones who would ...

maddening · 19/01/2020 12:30

Dolls don't have genitals?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 19/01/2020 12:42

Do people just swallow whole whatever they're told now?
Maybe it is real.
Maybe it's not
All the "feck me, that's awful" type posts....
We have an OP with nothing but a statement and question designed to get people frothing.
No link to anything
Someone posts a photo of a doll that looks like it's been uploaded in someone's living room.
Again, no evidence of it actually being "a thing" and on sale.
I'll save my frothing and go YABU for giving no context whatsoever

That's pretty grim if the doll is actually a real toy. I wouldn't buy it for my child.

slashlover · 19/01/2020 13:09

Wait! Does this mean I actually made the first transgender doll in the early 80s when my sister pulled Barbies head off and I stuck a spare Kens on instead?

I’ve just had a quick look. Amazon sells boy and girl dolls with corresponding bits.

BritWifeinUSA · 19/01/2020 13:41

So having a penis and long hair means you are transgender? My husband has waist-length hair. Longer than most women. But he’s very much a man.

People are just looking for things to offend them these days.
