I was insulted today and told I look much older than I am. Could I ask you to tell me how old you think?

I guess the OP’s age correctly. There is no way she looks in her 60’s and posters saying she does are obviously doing it to be nasty.

How is it harming you, exactly? If those of us who have stuck our pictures up aren't bothered, then why get your own knickers in a twist? Noone is asking you to do the same.

WeBuilt, are you the same poster who earlier on in the thread said that you don't think my pictures are of me? Or are you another one? I don't understand why you would think that but ok, you do you.

If I was a catfish I would probably use better pictures to gather compliments, alas I was just interested in seeing what other women around my own age thought.

Interesting what someone said about photos from above getting rid of chins etc. I didn't take my photo but I did wonder where my bit of a double chin had gone.

But seriously, don't we all know why we don't routinely see men acting this way? My DH isn't on a thread full of men putting up photos of themselves filtered to fuck and asking people to guess their age. And we know why women not men do this kind of thing, because of fucking sexist stereotyping that judges women on our appearances and our age, let's not encourage ourselves to be complicit in this! This is why women "let themselves go/become mutton" yet "men become silver foxes"

(I hope someone more intelligent and articulate can explain that better than I did!)

Clearly I won't be putting a selfie up I look my age, in fact I probably, maybe definitely, look older than I do and I couldn't give a fuck. Alright, I don't like looking tired or ill and I want to like myself when I look in the mirror but otherwise I don't give one single fuck about people judging my age or appearance.

I still think you looked mid 50 -60 without filters. I could just tell you are a smoker and probably too much sun/tanning.
If it affects you this much then quit the smoking asap and it might make a big difference in a while.

Reminds me why I prefer male company lol saucers of milk all round- you know who you are! I don’t think some people DO look their age. Some look older, some younger. Depends on your lifestyle, health, stress, skincare, exercise, surgery etc

@cyclelover, yes I am suspicious that it's not your picture to be honest. It was another poster who said they'd believe you if you did a date stamped selfie with todays paper or a fork in your left hand or something though, I genuinely would like to be proved wrong if you want to do this! Although we have photoshop as well as filters.

Also, anyone could be putting up photos of anyone else to be judged, how would we know?

And yes I could hide the thread or stay off it, but I can also say what I think, just like every one else does when they believe someone is BU.

@Cyclelover I’d have said late 40s and a smoker. Eek to £200 face cream! That’s bonkers. But if you can quit the cigs!! Good luck with that, hope it goes well. Should help your cycling too.

I have no idea if men do this online. I did used to play guess the age of both sexes with my exH when we were sat watching the world go by in the pub though. It's harmless fun.
