I see a bunch of posters posting pics, who are desperate for people say they look younger than their age. And lots of others claiming that people they know 'often think they look much younger/often think they are their son's sister/get asked for I.D. to buy alcohol even though they're 44!' 🙄
Well all I can say is if that is true, then all of these people saying this, are terrible at guessing ages... Or they need to go to specsavers... because no-one looks more than 7-8 years younger than their age, (10 max,) not when you look properly and look closer, and they are not conveniently putting the camera higher (to hide the double chin and jowls, and so the loose skin/loosening face muscles fall back slightly...)
Along with the 'lift the camera higher' trick, putting a soft focus on the camera, can make you look 10-12 years younger on a photo.
I was also amused by something on twitter some months back. Some French man (in fashion or something,) had said 'all middle aged women (like over 45,) are unattractive, not sexy, and 'past it..' Obviously rude, and untrue.
However, within a couple of hours, HUNDREDS of women aged between 45 and around 59 were posting selfies of themselves pouting (some with collagen-filled lips,) their boobs pushed up in a push-up bra, wearing a vest top, their hair clearly dyed, and tons of make up troweled on, with comments like 'THIS is me - a 45 year old woman - and now say all women 45 and over are not sexy..!'
The pictures, and the comments with them, made it clear that they all thought they looked sexy and 'hot,' and that they looked much younger than their age. Other comments included 'this is what a 49 year old woman looks like, and why I get mistaken for my 28 y.o. daughter's sister' and other hilarious gems like that. It was embarrassing, because every single one of them looked their age, like everyone does - roughly.
I can look anything from 5-8 years younger than my age on a photo, to 5-8 years older. Depends on the angle, the lighting, and if I have any make-up on. But overall, I look roughly my age... just like everyone else.
As a pp said, people posting photos on here that CLEARLY have a filter on are just cringeworthy. The validation some women on here are so desperately seeking, is not healthy or normal.
Why are people SO desperate to be thought of as looking younger than their age? What is wrong with looking your age? Seriously, it's all so fucked up, this desperation to get validation and compliments and 'oooh you look so YOUNG!' comments. It's quite depressing actually.
And the people coming up with comments like 'don't post on here if you don't see the point then' can just shut up, because it's a free country, and people are allowed to post what they like. You're not the thread police, so just do one eh?
And no-one is saying women fall apart when they hit 40, because they don't. But they do - and always WILL - look their age!!!
