To ask you to tell me how old I look?

I was insulted today and told I look much older than I am. Could I ask you to tell me how old you think?

I'd say late 40s but your hair colour really ages you.

Go dark, I think it will make a massive difference.

Just don’t believe OP is 42. 52 yes and that includes for a smoker. I am 44 and no way she’s younger than me (and I’m no great shakes).

I do want and need to stop smoking, I've tried multiple times but am determined to kick the habit once end for all.

I would like to look younger, I think it's natural to want to hang on to your youth isn't it? Unfortunately i can't now get younger looking skin without having invasive surgery or injections which I really don't want.

Cycling outside is hard on your Facial
skin but outdoor exercise is good for your health and that’s more important.

Carrying extra weight kept my face looking less wrinkled and younger...until it didn’t
And it decided to become jowels instead of cheeks. Life happens!🤷🏻‍♀️

Filters look like someone has something to hide. So I think they do age a person. If a campaign is attached that hints of brexit/daily mail even more so.

Now, OP, I'm 48 and think I look roughly my age. Comparing your photo you look older than me because of the smoker's wrinkles. Quit and slather with decent moisturiser and you can stop time (somewhat).

Cycle honestly I think it's the hair. It's just a bit dated and ageing. Easy enough to change if you do want to look more youthful.

Not wishing to be rude, but could I suggest a slightly trendier hairstyle? My neighbour is 65 and has a similar hairstyle. She looks absolutely fab for 65, but if you are 42 I think you could go for something a bit funkier and maybe a softer blonde? Appreciate you can’t do much about your skin without fillers or surgery, but a great hairstyle can do wonders. I used to watch that show “10 years Younger” and a great hairstyle worked miracles on some people.

What is your go-to moisturiser ladies? I'll be frank, I don't often bother and when I do it's just a cheap nivea one I've had for yonks. Definitely prepared to invest in some better skincare if it's worth it

I agree it's all about skin care at our age (I'm 45). Moisturise, keep out of the sun and even have the occasional facial if the budget allows. I know a few people who seem to think that a tan makes them look "healthy" but it really doesn't, just ages them.
