The Queen has legal custody of all the kids. Not their parents. That means the parents have no right to decide a single thing regarding their children.

Wouldn't you stay a few thousand miles away if your FIL's mother was able to take your baby away from you if she felt like it?

Bringing Archie on multiple flights hasn't bothered either parent previously, they're safe keeping their custody of their child against any threat, no matter how small it maybe, as any good parent would.

That's my theory too. There's no way I'd place my child in a situation whereby they were basically held as a hostage to prevent me from leaving the country, with or without them, or or as a way of making me 'toe the line'.

I think the driving force behind all this is Harry, as he doesn't want his wife and child treated to the scrutiny his mother and he (and William) were/is.

As long as Harry and Meghan are sucking at the British taxpayer's teat then what they are doing is the people's business.

But why have a teat at all? What do ANY of them provide in return?

After the documentary with Tom Bradby I was certain this would eventually happen and I’m so pleased for them both. The whole Andrew/Epstein thing won’t have helped either I shouldn’t have thought. I personally would want to distance myself from a family member like that.

Harry truly believes the press killed his mom, what man, father, wouldn’t want to protect his wife and child from this.

She must have planned to go back as the baby and dog are both there. The woman is a me, me, me narcissist and people talked about she could go back to Hollywood. As far as I know, she's only a TV actress! Wait till she finds out the tax implications. Nobody wants to fund her security and the logistics is a nightmare. Cakeism is alive and well in that family. When I read stories about very disabled people being forced to go through PPI or disabled people got their cars removed, I really think it's high time these lucky people born with a sliver spoon got real .. It's simply unsustainable to pay for security for weddings for various granddaughters who are lucky enough to get well paid jobs on the back of their undeserved titles.

Who would deal with a jetlagged baby for the sake of a couple days if they didn't have to? And if she stayed with Harry, leaving Archie, she'd be criticised for that. I don't massively care about them or this whole drama, but it's clear they can do no right.

OP you’ve obviously never flown to the wet coast of Canada. No direct flights, immigration line ups....

Must have imagined that direct BA flight I took to Vancouver in August 2019 then. Loads of automated passport machines too. We were through in 15 minutes. Had to wait almost an hour after that for luggage though

And let's face it, would Meghan really have been waiting hours to show her passport? Unlikely.

The only thing that I find fascinating about this is how fast the media dropped Andrew to move on to a more comfortable subject of dissing a coloured foreign who didn’t want to walk the line quietly.

Having travelled to Canada both east and west coast with babies and young children multiple times, the jet lag is horrible for them and for the parents! It takes about a week before everyone is sleeping properly again. There's no way on this earth I'd put a baby through it twice in one week if i didn't have to. But go ahead and make this out to be something more sinister than it actually is if that entertains you! I personally think they made a sensible decision.

She didn't accumulate millions by being ignorant about money

The country would save millions though if they'd all just go

AND if there was no monarchy, none of them would need us to pay for their security either

Currently, Harry is the sone of the future king and brother of the next one,
so he'd need security even if he went into a monastery for life

They're still going to get £5 mill a year though, and state is required to provide security for them so they'll get that as well. Definitely a sensible decision to take the money and not do anything for it.
