There's a lot of crisis talks, drama etc.

OP posts:
tapdancingmum · 12/01/2020 00:14

Doubt it, my DD knows someone who was interning there this week and she said they've done nothing except do crosswords and apply for other jobs. She doubts she is going back next week!

Grandmi · 12/01/2020 00:20

I think its a very sad situation for all of the family. I just hope that H and M can have a happy, stress free life with Archie. Mistakes have been made on both sides and people can comment and make their assumptions but actually none of us know what went wrong unless people like to read media gossip and innuendo !!

SebandAlice · 12/01/2020 00:21

Seriously MNHQ sort this out. Every second thread is about MM. Sort it out. Remember handbag.com anyone...

lostsoulsunited · 12/01/2020 00:35

Handbag.com ?

@mnhq can we have any auto hide option for any thread with Harry or Meghan please !!

BubblyBluePebbles · 12/01/2020 00:36

"Will all be forgotten next week anyway, and who cares?"

@kinsss
It won't be. And you care because you bothered to post a message.

@nancy75
You're obviously a lovely human being.

Jealously and misogynoir. Concentrate on doing better in your own lives.

Grandmi · 12/01/2020 00:39

I don’t blame her . She has been subjected to so much vitriol that I actually admire her for her fortitude!! She is protecting herself and her child...why would you not?

Leflic · 12/01/2020 00:54

Protecting her child until she and Harry decides everyone needs reminding that he’s seventh in line to the throne I bet.

EerieSilence · 12/01/2020 00:58

I keep reading those threads as I am trying to understand what makes people so interested and emotionally involved in lives of people they don’t know and I still don’t get it.
How many of you actually know them? Who really knows what is going on there except for the speculations in the tabloids?
Moreover- why do you care?

Leflic · 12/01/2020 01:09

EerieSilence I grew up in an anti royalist household. Mostly as my family didn’t like the idea that other humans have done superiority by birth.
However seeing that actually quite a few people have vast amounts of money and largely become superior and power wielding, I quite like the idea of a powerless monarchy whose only job is to make the country look good.
I think the monarchy is interesting in its own right and a Harry and Meghan are quite important in the centuries old history of royalty.

I’m not interested in famous people normally. These two are part of Britians story.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 12/01/2020 01:09

Oh Gawd. haven't read all the replies but FFS just leave them alone already!
I'm old enough to remember the utter shit that Diana got thrown at her (can't remember exactly which paper it is was but "We Don't like You Dodi!" was a headline. Then it changed literally overnight as the news broke and the reports became more fawning by morning

Raspberrytruffle · 12/01/2020 01:24

So what? Archie is her son not British property. Poor megan getting all this shit.

fallfallfall · 12/01/2020 01:33

OP you’ve obviously never flown to the wet coast of Canada. No direct flights, immigration line ups....It’s not a fun ride for an adult forget for a child.

AwdBovril · 12/01/2020 01:39

This is all getting very silly, the level of curiosity in their relationship is morbidly voyeuristic.

IAmNotAWitch · 12/01/2020 01:44

Patroclus - You lot cant wait to hound this one to her death as well.

Indeed, I wonder if they do get what they are salivating for, that is complete destruction of this woman if she will then get the same veneration that Diana got?

Think of the photo ops! You could have another dose of Harry grieving! Maybe get some shots Archie (obviously once he is old enough to understand and really feel it).

This fucked up. I am no fan of Royalty (I can't imagine Australia will be part of the Commonwealth for too long once the Queen and the Boomers die - especially with Brexit) - but this shit is fucked up.

LoadOfOldTosh · 12/01/2020 02:21

OP you’ve obviously never flown to the wet coast of Canada. No direct flights, immigration line ups....It’s not a fun ride for an adult forget for a child.*

Presuming you mean west coast rather than 'wet coast'. I thought they were holed up in Toronto (very much not on the west coast)!*

Cacheral · 12/01/2020 02:25

What has Australia got to do with Brexit ?

IAmNotAWitch · 12/01/2020 02:29

"What has Australia got to do with Brexit?"

Your loss of international power/usefulness/standing? What is in it for us?

I just don't see the value for Australia in remaining part of the Commonwealth going forward. The world is changing (as it always does).

The last referendum was ridiculously worded and sentiment ruled.

We get nothing from the Monarchy that we can't sort out ourselves.

kateandme · 12/01/2020 02:33

can you imagine what you will say if they do split.
and it will be partly people like yous fault.
you willblame her.
she ruined him.
i told you so.
yet when they stick together you hate it.and if they split youd hate it too?
if she didnt come over here you would say she is shit for not supporting him
if she came with the baby you would blame her for bringng poor baby all this way and disrupting him.
if they both didnt come you would blame them for not at least have the decency to come over and discuss their decision
when they do come over your angry
do tell me what about them (her) you would find wrong
and i wonder why
what is it under all this that makes people like you hate them (her)
and what is it going to take to leave them alone.

Cacheral · 12/01/2020 02:38

I thought Australia was a bit pissed off at the time when Britain went into what was then know as The Common Market .

fallfallfall · 12/01/2020 02:46

loadof the west coast is often referred to as the wet coast and they have been in B.C., Saanich to be precise.

StudentMummy92 · 12/01/2020 02:46

I don't actually give a shit about what they get up to. Why would I? It's absolutely none of business.

IAmNotAWitch · 12/01/2020 02:49

Cacheral, quite possibly - I am little young to remember.

Just saying, that from the outside Britain/UK looks shaky and other than a sentimental attachment to the 'mother country' there is no great reason for us to remain bound to the UK. I don't see the value.

The craziness around the Royal Family also makes me wonder why we remain tied to such a backwards idea.

These people aren't special, there is no reason to expect anything much from them. I don't actually see what they are for? Any of them.

An hereditary monarchy is "no way to run a country".

kateandme · 12/01/2020 03:01

IAmNotAWitch yep. or harry, especially with his trauma and reasctions ect will do something horrid or rash or completely meltdown

IAmNotAWitch · 12/01/2020 03:10

Which is of course his business, kateandme.

I just can't get my head around how invested people seem to be.

It is very circular, on one hand people seem to be saying "these people are special, so we must support them" and on the other hand saying that that support is conditional. Are they special or are they not?

Obviously, I land on the "not" side, so I don't see why we should be supporting any of them, I can't see what the Monarchy is for. The castles are nice though.

What, value does the Royal Family have for Australia? Is the question I ask myself and the answer as far as I am concerned is "None at all".

I don't want anything bad to happen to any of them, I just don't understand what they are for and what makes them royal.

Once you stop thinking of them as somehow special, then why the fuck does it matter who they marry?

Cremebrule · 12/01/2020 03:24

No-one really knows what is happening but If they had a modicum of sense they’ll have known the shit was about to hit the fan. Better to leave the baby safe and sound for a few days than drag him into a press scrum. Also knowing the queen technically has custody, would you take that risk however small? I do think the situation with Andrew, this with Harry will be the beginning of the decline in popularity of the RF and raises some serious questions about its value etc.
