She has invited me to visit. She has also invited my Dad and brother. She's a force to be reckoned with and for some reason I reckon I'm in for a bit of a bollockin rather than sweet tea and cake.

WIBU to just take the next flight to Toronto instead?

Is she the granny from the horror game of the same name? Definitely go to Toronto.

Leaannb · 11/01/2020 21:56

Invites are not summons. You don't have to go and neither does she

user1492809438 · 11/01/2020 21:58

Is your name Harry?!!

Theromanempire · 11/01/2020 21:58

I guess you and your wife have really pissed her off Hmm

MyPatronusIsABadger · 11/01/2020 21:59

Maybe go and don’t come back?

titchy · 11/01/2020 21:59

Don't blame you! Will you did she take the baby with you?

AraGrand · 11/01/2020 22:00

I've done nothing wrong at all but it feels like I have. My wife isn't talking to me now and now my grandma wants to talk to me. Honestly, I'd prefer if it was the other way round.

ElusiveOrangeTwirl · 11/01/2020 22:01

Oh one of those posts.

AraGrand · 11/01/2020 22:02

I've no choice but to go. Daddy and Billy are heading up and they said they'd collect me in the carriage on the way. It would be fine if she was a normal granny - but she's not. She has a way of making me feel very naughty. Not sure if I can cope tbh.

UndertheCedartree · 11/01/2020 22:03

Well, there may be some cake...but remember you can't have your cake and eat it!

AraGrand · 11/01/2020 22:04

Right now I kinda wish I'd never even seen cake!

AraGrand · 11/01/2020 22:06

Granny holds the purse strings you see and I'm a little afraid that I won't be getting my usual penny of a Friday anymore. If that happens then I'll have nowhere to go as my wife won't want me either!

Seriously though

It does feel like walking into the lion's den for him I reckon! She is after all, the Queen. And he think he's a good enough chap who will listen to her. I'd say the poor fucker is torn at this stage. He'll end up with an ulcer!

I was thinking about ghe MN version of this earlier.

“I moved abroad to be with DH and now I miss my friends and family. He’d love to move back to my home, but the ILs are being awkward. AWBU?”

“AIBU to want to live near my friends?”

“AIBU to want to live near my mum?”

“AIBU to want to bring up DS without his photo being shared on social media by people I don’t know?”

“AIBU to want to follow my own career path?”

To all of those, a resounding YANBU.

midnightmisssuki · 11/01/2020 22:23

🙄

How boring. Another bloody thread about a total
Non-issue.

SarahAndQuack · 11/01/2020 22:26

FFS.

midnightmisssuki · 11/01/2020 22:27

I think this is where he'll miss having a Mum-

This is a shit thing to write - his mother died in a car crash - hardly appropriate on a ‘joke’ thread really. For those of us who have family who have died in car crashes, this is not going to resonate.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 11/01/2020 22:27

To all of those, a resounding YANBU.

If you married a plumber or builder. It’s not like he revealed he was a royal after they got married.

MsJaneAusten · 11/01/2020 22:27

Hmm I suspect he’s missed having a mum forever, not just right now.

At the end of the day, Meghan has left him to deal with this alone.
Um, no. Meghan has gone back to look after their son, where they’d presumably both agreed to leave him, and presumably both knew she’d go back to very soon.

When he probably could really do with her support since it was all her fucking idea in the first place
I suspect she could do with his support too, but they’ve decided that her with their DS and him with his family is a sensible division of labour.
