School mum lives down my road. I actually live further from the school than she does and it’s a 7 minute walk for me and DC.
This mum (who is not disabled in any way btw) actually gets in her car and drives her DC to school. I see her parking up back at home on my way back so she’s not dropping DC on the way to work either. This is morning.
WTF!

I once bought an e-book of a book I already owned, because I couldn't be bothered to get out of bed to fetch the book.

I judge no-one. Halo Grin

TeddyBeans · 10/01/2020 20:58

My ex used to leave used plates, cutlery and mugs on the worktop right on top of the dishwasher...it's LITERALLY THERE. Put it in the fucking dishwasher! 😤😤

ironicname · 10/01/2020 20:58

Shall I just post a picture of my DH watching TV?

roiseandjim · 10/01/2020 20:59

How do you know she has no disabilities? I have really painful IBS and sometimes I can't walk in doubled over in pain, but I still have to crack on

TheGirlWhoLived · 10/01/2020 20:59

I was so bone idle the other day I downloaded a film we already had on dvd onto sky because I couldn’t be bothered to plug the DVD player in

When I was living in uni accomodation, someone in my dorm spilt milk all over the kitchen counter. Instead of cleaning it up, they got my friend's carton of almond milk out the fridge and put it in the middle of the spillage to make it look like it was him, failing to realise that the almond milk hadn't actually been opened yet. Poor friend still ended up cleaning the spillage up, even though it had nothing to do with him.

There is a primary at the end of my street.
5 houses away. The lady opposite me, reverses of her drive up to school gate, kids get out and she drives back on.
It's astonishing and hilarious at the same time

TightPants · 10/01/2020 21:03

Let’s just say I know.

It’s literally a 4 minute walk for her. If she had CFS or IBS I doubt she could manage regular punishing exercise classes.

I’m not saying she’s a bad person - she’s not. I just can’t get my head around it that’s all.

FWIW, my eldest has stamina issues with walking and would find five minutes tough to walk

TightPants · 10/01/2020 21:07

Weekday28 · 10/01/2020 21:13

I know a school mum who does the same thing! It blows my mind she lives on the same road as the school! Pure laziness.

JockTamsonsBairns · 10/01/2020 21:13

Years ago, I was getting ready for work one afternoon. It was a boiling hot summers day, and my bedroom window of my 14th floor flat was opened wide. A strong gust of wind caused the window to suddenly slam shut, and the glass shattered all over the bedroom carpet. I hesitated for a moment, then remembered that ex-h would be home a few hours before me. So I finished my make up, left for work, and acted confused and shocked when I got in that night Smile

OhamIreally · 10/01/2020 21:15

@BeeFarseer I absolutely love that.

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 10/01/2020 21:18

@BeeFarseer I've done the same! The shame.

BeeFarseer · 10/01/2020 21:21

@OhamIreally Thank you, I'm very proud of it. Grin

@YesThatsATurdOnTheRug You are my people. A toast! Wine

Many years ago at dd's nursery there was briefly a mum that often ended up parking almost as far away as she lived. From other things that happened we eventually realised not only was she lazy enough to drive to save an average of 100m on foot, but we were all meant to be impressed by her car.

At uni, I was always short for time, trying to squeeze studies in around more important things like horses and my social life. At the yard I had my horse on the field was about half a mile of farm track/ rutted lane from the yard. I preferred riding/ walking there & back, but several mornings a week I used to drive, so I could eat my breakfast at the same time, with the horse following loose. Not that there was anywhere to escape to, or anyone around but definitely a practice borne of idleness.

BikeRunSki · 10/01/2020 21:28

DS is currently in bed with her curtains open, complaining that she can’t get to sleep. I’m not surprised, there’s a lamppost outside her window. Her butler must be on holiday.

Sunnysidegold · 10/01/2020 21:35

When hoovering I will stand and whizz the hoover back and forth a million times to lift a stubborn piece of dirt rather than bend down to pick it up. Also have a competition to myself about how lazy I'll be about unclogging thr hoover of all the stuff that was really too big to hoover up.and then blocks the thing.

PaprikaPringle · 10/01/2020 21:35

I text DD to come and put the telly on for me. If she doesn't come straight away, I'll ring her.

PaprikaPringle · 10/01/2020 21:38

In a world of competitive busyness we should celebrate the bone idle.

kittykatkitty · 10/01/2020 21:41

An old manager of mine use to say " always ask the laziest person to do a new task. They will figure out the quickest way of completing the task"

ChocolateCoins19 · 10/01/2020 21:42

Putting laundry in top of the basket or next to it but not in it... Dh and ds

Emptying pockets to remember to get phone, money etc out.. Leaving tissue or crap. In there... Ds is learning the hard way after a tissue went everywhere in a dark load that he left in pocket.. Tried to deny it but was the only item with pockets in the load haha. Made him use tape to de fluff everything.. Could of tumbled it but thought I'd make him learn. Haha

iwantomountchrispratt · 10/01/2020 21:43
