Piddletrenthide used to make me giggle a lot, the first time we drove through there on the way to our holiday destination my brother (then about 8 years old) thought the sign said piddlethenhide.

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 10/01/2020 20:20

I live in Birmingham near Dogpool Lane and can confirm that the 'l' is often painted out by some wag.

As is Sarehole Mill, which often has an amusing anagram painted over it.

My mate lives in Lickey End.Grin

And I once heard that there's a Douglas Bader Walk in Castle Bromwich, but I fear this is made up as I've never found it. Hilarious if true.

SteeperThanHell · 10/01/2020 20:25

Nob End in Bolton is the best...

There’s cold blow lane in the backstreets of Deptford.

Which is about right as it’s quite grim

MuskyFoxyStoat · 10/01/2020 20:30

I grew up near North Piddle in Worcestershire. Wyre Piddle is also quite close.

MuskyFoxyStoat · 10/01/2020 20:33

Also there is a Foggy Bottom tube station in Washington DC. Always made us laugh as kids.

@MrsMoastyToasty

There And Back Again Lane in Bristol is the best

What is it about Bristol, eh. I work near "Emma-Chris Way", and I just think how quaint to call a road that, maybe there's a bit of a love story surrounding it!

BeyondMyWits · 10/01/2020 20:41

We have a butts walk in town, always makes me smile

daisychain01 · 10/01/2020 20:42

Ugley and Ugley Green in Essex. The WI there had to change its name to The Women’s Institute of Ugley’ to stop the titters.
