To be offended by slogan on travel mug

I was given a travel mug by a sibling with 'Smug for Life' printed on it. I realise this is a pun, but my sibling doesn't have much of a sense of humour. Am I wrong to be a bit miffed / offended ?

So, re-usable mugs/ cups are sometimes jokingly referred to as ‘smug mugs’ as in you’re doing your bit for the environment by not using paper cups. And feeling ‘smug’ While still drinking ‘black gold’ that is.
Except not really because of course it’s good to have a re-usable mug, particularly if it’s lasting for your life. Get it????
In other words, you are being too sensitive but maybe family therapy can help you work through the deepseated issues that brought you here

I suppose cos the person giving it to me is serious, I am concerned they are having some sort of dig at me. Just me being over sensitive maybe. BTW I am not at all smug, and actually DO have a sense of humour, just overthinking I guess 🙄

I didnt know about them being called smug mugs! I shall happily refer to my Slytherin travel mug as such from now on, which I use at the drive thru Greggs on my way to work cos it gets me 20p off. So that might dent my smug credibility!

I wouldn't be overjoyed to receive it to be honest - it's a weird choice of gift out of all the lovely travel mugs they could have chosen. Maybe it was reduced? I've never heard them called smug mugs either.
