To be offended by slogan on travel mug

I was given a travel mug by a sibling with 'Smug for Life' printed on it. I realise this is a pun, but my sibling doesn't have much of a sense of humour. Am I wrong to be a bit miffed / offended ?

Same. Never heard the term either. Makes sense if you have, but if you haven't I think it's not totally unreasonable to think what OP thought.

Never heard of these, but I think I will buy one for my sister who is a right smug cow.

Without previously knowing that they are called smug mugs I can see why OP was wondering if it was a dig. Who wants to be called smug? Now I know, from this thread, that's what they're called then it makes sense

Pretty sure posts like this are against talk guidelines. It would be more traditional to announce you are going NC with them and have logged the incident with 101.

Oh @Owlypants, not just a game, all the games. It’s DG’s pride and joy. He built it from the ground up, literally from wood, wire, bits of computer and paint. It plays every arcade game, every single one.
