Will DD be huge?!

Dd is 10.5 months. Just came back from a visit to the health visitor for her 12 month check and she’s tall - 98th percentile. Her weight is much lower but she’s at the right point (can’t recall where).

Does this mean she’ll always be really tall?? I’m now worrying she’ll always tower over the other kids. I’m 5ft 7 and DH is 5ft 10.

How does it work??

She will either follow your growth or her father's family. So if you are only 5ft 7 and her dad is 5ft 10 she's unlikely to be much taller.
But during growth spurts you may have shot up and been head and shoulders above the boys for a few months and she might follow suit. Like wise, if the girls in her dad's side were always little then she's not likely to do anything different.
Unless she has a medical condition that affects her growth which is what they will be looking for.

I am so envious of my DD for being tall - she is 5ft 10, and has legs that go on for ever! I am 5ft nothing, and DH was over 6ft, so to be expected I suppose. And when she wears heels she is about 6ft. She was 9lb 3 at birth and always a tall child. Such a beautiful woman.

You're both taller than average so she will probably be tall.

I think doubling their height when they are 2yo is a rough indicator of adult height but it's not an exact science as nutrition, illness etc will be a factor.
