Am sure this has been done before but what are your weird food habits?

Mine are:
Cream on crunchy nut cornflakes
Butter on bbq crisps (I know- WTF)

Aibu to ask about yours?!

I used to put gravy on just about everything.

Now I like carrots dipped in mustard.

Clevererthanyou · 07/01/2020 20:49

I want to point out that I don’t do it anymore and the thought of the memory makes me queasy but many many years ago before I learned how to cook and take care of myself I would melt butter in a pan and fry bacon in it for about a minute until it was just about solid pink instead of translucent Confused to be fair, I thought this was how it was supposed to be done Grin

vampirethriller · 07/01/2020 20:52

Rollmops sandwiches

Sweetbabycheezits · 07/01/2020 21:00

Not totally weird, but if you mix plain m&ms with cocktail peanuts(it MUST be cocktail peanuts), it is the perfect snack!

Cornettoninja · 07/01/2020 21:15

10/15

Cornettoninja · 07/01/2020 21:16

Sorry! That was meant for something else - wasn’t scoring the thread Grin

My partner thinks it's weird that I eat almost everything (including full roast dinners) using one hand and just a fork. I broke my arm in two places clean across at the top aswell as my shoulder and a load of nerve damage so i had to do everyone thing one handed and that's something that always stuck. I never thought about it til he pointed it out either and I've been doing it for 15 years.

shivbo2014 · 07/01/2020 21:34

Cream and sugar mixed and eaten with a spoon. Weetabix and butter. Never buttered both sides might need to go and try that now...

mousemousse · 07/01/2020 21:37

Hot chocolate powder and a blob of raspberry jam on vanilla ice cream and mix it all up into a gloopy paste

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 07/01/2020 21:39

Maltesers and beef Hula hoops.
Galaxy caramel and chips
Chips and chocolate
Mcds fries and malteser mcflurry

I'm disgusting Grin

phlebasconsidered · 07/01/2020 21:51

Small sweet silverskin onions with vanilla ice-cream.
Tomato soup with a dollop of mash in and an egg on top.
"Spring rolls" of lettuce stuffed with coleslaw, french mustard, cornichons and a dollop of peanut butter with soy sauce to dip in.

My nan used to give me bread in milk with sugar and melted butter when I was ill. I still like it now for comfort.

Everythingnotsaved · 07/01/2020 21:55

@SaintWillibald I had a goats cheese and honey pizza last year in France & it was one of the nicest things I have ever eaten!!!

Tins of sterilised cream. Eaten straight from, with a spoon.

seastargirl · 07/01/2020 22:01

Mars bars dipped in gravy, started as a pregnancy craving, but I still love it!

wannabebetter · 07/01/2020 22:02

Used to love leftover Yorkshire puddings with sugar (now DH makes sure there is no such thing as a leftover Yorkshire pudding!)

Snozzlemaid · 07/01/2020 22:04

Mine's a real Cornish treat - clotted cream on a pasty.
Cut the pasty in half and dollop a spoon of cream in the cut end. The heat melts it and it runs all the way down through. Delicious.

Animum2 · 07/01/2020 22:09

Poached eggs on toast with meatballs in tomato sauce (tinned) delicious!

myfuckingfreezer · 07/01/2020 22:13

500g penne pasta swirled around in a plain can of chopped tomatoes, then the whole lot in a baking dish, and topped with a WHOLE BAG of grated cheese.

ShockShockShock don't get me wrong I eat a lot, and am not a mumsnet competitive undereater, but that's 3000calories in a meal! That's a whole pound of body weight in one go!

Can't work out if I'm appalled or impressed Wink

LaMarschallin · 07/01/2020 22:14

Mashed potato with tomato ketchup stirred into it. With butter.
A really lot of butter.

Sandwiches dipped in soup. Most combinations of sandwich filling and soup flavour.

As a child I used to chop up my roast chicken dinner and stir it all together so I got a bit of everything in each bite.
I find the thought really disgusting now but it must run in the family: one of my uncles did the same as a child but also then made sandwiches out of it.

(Reading this has made me realise how much I hate the 😋 emoji. Reminds me of an ex-friend who - to emphasise how delicious she found something - used to stick her tongue out and run it wetly around her lips with a huge "SCHLUPP!" noise.

Feel sick remembering it.
Couldn't even fancy an egg yolk and salad cream sandwich dipped in tinned lentil soup 🙁)

Ohtherewearethen · 07/01/2020 22:15

Not me but a friend likes stilton and anchovy sandwiches and marmalade, marmite, stilton and ketchup sandwiches. I can't bring myself to try them.

myfuckingfreezer · 07/01/2020 22:15

Used to love leftover Yorkshire puddings with sugar (now DH makes sure there is no such thing as a leftover Yorkshire pudding!)

That's not weird! Y.puds are just oddly shaped pancakes?

SinkGirl · 07/01/2020 22:19

Crisp sandwiches (only ready salted, only white bread with proper butter) are definitely top of the list.

Also, eating ready salted crisps and chocolate alternately (can’t quite bring myself to have them both in my mouth at the same time). I remember my friend in France would put a thick layer of salted butter on a fresh baguette and then squares of Milka or similar chocolate. Maybe chuck some crisps in there too.

As you can tell, I really like crisps.

SinkGirl · 07/01/2020 22:21

Also, bearnaise sauce with as many foods as possible. I have tried it with most things 😬

With chips, obviously, but especially with Swedish meatballs.

blamethecat · 07/01/2020 22:21

Frazzles dipped in cream cheese.
Tomato soup with lumps of cheese in.
