Friend has just revealed that when she makes a stew/curry/casserole, anything that can be put in the oven for a few hours and cook on low heat, she would do that and go out for a few hours.

I can’t imagine doing that, anything could happen. What if you got caught up, run over/injured honestly anything could happen and nobody would know you have the oven on 😳.

Read this back tomorrow when you've sobered up? A Saturday night with wine seems to be the issue here
I’m fully sober thank you. You’ve used that one already- getting a bit boring now. Doesn’t make you funny or clever.

spingly · 05/01/2020 00:11

@Dearymeop I owe you an apology because you've called me a cunt and a slag........ you're male aren't you, you're a misogynistic man on here with an issue with women and think that shaming them is acceptable because they've dared to "have an opinion" on what you've said?

You've massively over reacted and if my DH called me the names you have he'd be single.... totally unacceptable.

spingly · 05/01/2020 00:12

@lcarmichael they didn't have a freezer.......... so not really!

Grandmi · 05/01/2020 00:13

If I cook casserole I stick it in oven on a very low heat and cook for hours!!

Dearymeop · 05/01/2020 00:13

@spingly Why do you assume someone who uses bad language is a male? I’m a woman. I don’t really get the assumption that I’m a man just because I swore Confused

lcarmichael · 05/01/2020 00:13

@spingly nah not everyone agrees, you gave a btchy unhelpful response and if you upset someone with it then suck it up. Dearymeop is clearly not drunk on wine or anything else so just drop it as you are in danger of looking like a gaslighting bully.

Dearymeop · 05/01/2020 00:14

@spingly and it wasn’t ‘daring to have an opinion’, you were rude and patronising and basically told me to shut up and not reply to you when all I did was chip in an obvious answer: that people don’t turn their fridges off

spingly · 05/01/2020 00:15

@Dearymeop it's not "bad language" it's deeply vile women shaming language. What do you define as a slag? What am I a slag?

spingly · 05/01/2020 00:15

*why am I a slag?

Dearymeop · 05/01/2020 00:15

@lcarmichael thank you!! Really not getting @spingly’s obsession with wine...maybe she’s the one who has a problem..Hmm

Dearymeop · 05/01/2020 00:17

@spingly which I then reported to be taken down?? If I were some bloke with a bee in his bonnet about women, surely I’d have just let it stay there without reporting?? I think you’re overthinking the connotations of ‘slag’, it’s just a word people use when they’re angry Confused

PurpleDaisies · 05/01/2020 00:18

As if you were the only one who reported that post @Dearymeop

Whowaswronghere2 · 05/01/2020 12:03

Op have you led a very sheltered life?

Queenofeverything44 · 05/01/2020 12:17

Most ovens have a slow cook setting just the same as using a slow cooker obviously with the cooker I wouldn't go out all day but a few hrs is fine.

Jux · 05/01/2020 13:12

It is very normal. I've done it many times.

When I was a child my mum used to put the roast in the oven before we all went to church - mum and dad were in the choir so had an hour's rehearsal first, we'd all be out for over 2 hours. Gas oven so actual flame involved. Never any problems.
