So blessed, date night, Love my man so much (no one belongs to anyone else unless you gave birth to them and even then they could fuck off and ditch you), feeling joyful, feeling thankful - the list goes on - what are yours?

Medical appointment/hospital check ins.

Oh and someone virtue signalling about ‘being kind’ etc, ‘you don’t know how people’s mental health is’ etc

This from someone who was a feckin bully to people.

katmarie · 03/01/2020 19:37

Tagging a dead person in stuff as if they were alive. Creeps me right out.

Also grief vultures. One person I know, her ex DP died unexpectedly after their nasty split instigated by her and shes gone from bitter nasty thinly veiled posts about him, to #missyousomuch #takentoosoon #heartbroken.

It's all bollocks, she hated him when he was alive.

We had all of the wedding prep, the hen dos (multiple!) and then the wedding. We’re now onto ‘throwback to the best day of my life!’ We don’t need a throwback! It was last week!

I guarantee that when it's a close friend/relative's birthday this person will use a photo from their wedding that includes the birthday person. Because everything will now always be about their wedding.

PatchworkElmer · 03/01/2020 19:40

Another one saying vague booking.

EerieSilence · 03/01/2020 19:42

'Where am I?' combined with a random picture of some square or even a photo of a landscape from a plane.
Let's her friends (it's always women) guess for half day to finally reveal the quiz winner.
Hate hate hate hate that.

aurynne · 03/01/2020 19:44

"These are the names of the girls who will smash it this year!"

"I already know who will report this..." or "Repost if you care about the women with haemorrhoids from Sudan"

Shitspirational quotes. Especially posted by vapid people who don't know the meaning of half the words anyway, let alone practice the philosophy.

"Say amen if you care for this anonymous child with no arms and legs someone just copied and pasted from google images"

Anyone older than 15 years of age pouting for photos, with cat noses and ears or filtered so much that they have no nose left.

"I can't believe what this video/news/blog says about toxic chemicals in water". It's fake. It's published on a website that reports alien abductions and Mother Mary miracles, FFS. Stop spreading fake shit!

AlphaJura · 03/01/2020 19:46

I have a couple of friends who,
Check into hospital and announce every ailment and illness,
Vague book,
Slag other people off
Talk about meals/food
Then moan about people who do all of the above, without seeming to realise it's exactly what they do.

One of them is also a single parent, and I'm not denying it's hard work as I know what it's like, but this person makes out she never has any 'time off' from her child and asks others what having time off 'child free' is like because she can't remember. Her child is not even 2 yet and she managed to go abroad on 2 foreign holidays 'child free' before her baby was 1 Confused.

Monsterjam · 03/01/2020 19:50

Pics of poorly children in hospital beds.... urgh just be with your sick kids not facebooking them.

Holly147 · 03/01/2020 19:50

I have a rather patronising Facebook friend who provides handy advice on various topics she has no expertise in - e.g. 'If you live in an area at risk of flooding, make sure you're careful', 'If it snows in your neighbourhood remember to check on elderly neighbours', 'Remember never to buy a pet on the internet', 'If you see an injured animal in the park, make sure you call the RSPCA', etc. etc.

She also shares news articles that she considers complicated and provides a simple summary, like she's some sort of expert communication service for the rest of us ordinary Facebook users.

Grief thiefs posts.
When my dd was murdered 4yrs ago. It was talked about on a public FB page in my hometown.
Some of the posts were disgusting. One poster made out she knew my family and continued to update on how we were coping. It was all a load of bullshit but she obviously got something out of it. Eventually my sister contacted the page and got it taken down.
People should never comment on other people's grief, a family are grieving and heartbroken something they will never understand.

Sandra from Wigan reposting about a missing dog in Chicago

RedPanda2 · 03/01/2020 20:12

I detest the 500 photos of kids in school uniforms parents insist on posting every September. Nobody cares!!!!!

ParkheadParadise · 03/01/2020 20:12

tulippa · 03/01/2020 21:13

@berryhead2013 I was just about to say people posting photos of themselves with sad faces on by the gravestones of distant relatives Confused Confused - but you beat me to it!

Also have another facebook acquaintance who often posts pictures of white feathers she's come across in her house and saying 'oh look an angel's watching over me'. It takes all I have to stop myself commenting that it's not an angel - it's her cushions moulting!

Turquiose · 03/01/2020 21:20

Where someone has found a supposedly funny website and keeps sending quotes from it. Half of them not even funny and just filling up my email page. Can't you think of things yourself instead just sending these on? Also it's several times a day. Don't you have anything better to do?

rumblefish23 · 03/01/2020 21:24

Posting happy birthday to nan/grandad in heaven.
"Nom nom" with pic of food.
Tagging in hospital then when asked are you ok "I will pm you"
Out with "this one" with cheesy pic
Cemetery pics next to gravestone
10 year challenge "yawn"

Morgan12 · 03/01/2020 21:28

When people say happy birthday, merry Christmas etc to people who have passed away.

They can't read it. Obviously.

Thoughtlessinengland · 03/01/2020 21:31

I left FB 2 years ago and it’s been the best decision in these two years. Here is the moment I left -

Was having a bad time with various things. Spouse and I decided to go for dinner to our favourite Chinese restaurant. We were having a good laugh when suddenly couple I know walk in. Their evening then proceeds to be a saga of bathroom visits, him storming off, her crying etc. Anyway. Next morning I see a FB post from
Her “what a wonderful anniversary night with my awesome gorgeous funny and amazing hubby - 7 years together - what’s not to celebrate in this fabulous hot life mate I have found”

And suddenly a bulb lit in my head. A large part of my agony came from watching other people’s higights reels and thinking my life was the only one that had various bits of suck. It was like a moment of realisation that behind all these highlights lie things people never let others see. It’s a big timeline of some truths, some lies but never ever ever a whole picture.

And that was it. I left that day and it’s the best thing I did. It wasn’t making me happy.

I check in randomly with someone in particular on my friends list, even when I'm not with her, because we both know it gets the back up of someone else!

It's a terrible thing, we know, but it amuses us for a bit!

I usually post silly, funny things, I thought that was what it was meant for. I'd hate to get an, 'are you ok hun' response!
