AIBU in drinking a mug of gravy?

The same as a cup of tea. Even looks like tea/coffee. Except has little bits of bacon and herbs floating in it as it's leftover Christmas gravy.

It's absolutely delicious. DH thinks I'm vile. AIBU?

You like it.

It's not harming anyone.

Enjoy!

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 28/12/2019 13:10

Ewww isn't it like drinking a mug of fat?

Knittedfairies · 28/12/2019 13:11

If you can drink Bovril from a mug I don't see that a mug of gravy is any different!

MoonlightMistletoe · 28/12/2019 13:11

I am guilty of doing this myself so YANBU Grin

SpudsAreLife84 · 28/12/2019 13:12

Leftover from christmas?! 🤢🤮

Timmytoo · 28/12/2019 13:13

Gross that's made me feel nauseous now 🤢

RollingOutOfBed · 28/12/2019 13:14

YABU. Gravy is evil. Awful stuff.

Bluntness100 · 28/12/2019 13:14

Well to be fair, gravy isn't normally consumed in large quantities on its on, but you do uou..

cookiemonster5 · 28/12/2019 13:16

If there is gravy leftover my husband had been known to drink it out the jug before loading it into the dishwasher. Leftover yorkies and roast potatoes are left together and over the rest of the evening we all dip them into the gravy and demolish it all. Nothing wrong at all.

TrueRefuge · 28/12/2019 13:20

I love gravy and would happily drink it from the mug..... No judgment, you're not hurting anybody!

DingDongMerrilyOnThigh · 28/12/2019 13:33

It's not fundamentally different to a flour-thickened soup, is it?

JovialNickname · 28/12/2019 13:35

I think you ABU but I have a sneaking and jealous admiration for you because of it

GreekOddess · 28/12/2019 13:36

🤮🤮🤮

AppropriateAdult · 28/12/2019 13:38

Leftover from christmas?! 🤢🤮

Surely we’re all still eating leftovers from Christmas dinner?! Gravy will keep well for ages.

bottlenose301 · 28/12/2019 13:41

Can we have a photo 😁

Thelnebriati · 28/12/2019 13:44

When you put it in a mug it becomes soup.

HappyGirl86 · 28/12/2019 13:45

I think you are amazing. Sounds delicious. You just need some crusty bread to dip in it!

Hirsutefirs · 28/12/2019 13:47

It’s beef tea.

Cures all ills!

Helini · 28/12/2019 13:57

Beef tea! Xmas Grin It was glorious. We only have a little bit left so will save it for the very last leftover roast dinner this evening and any leftover gravy after that will be heated up as a mug of beef tea. - I'll take a pic for you bottlenose Xmas Grin

I drink Oxo all the time. I would happily drink it, it sounds lovely.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 28/12/2019 14:08

Not unreasonable at all. I've done it before because gravy is delicious. And of course it will still be fine as a left-over from Christmas day; I fully expect to be eating left-overs for a good day or so yet!

OlaEliza · 28/12/2019 14:09

My dh drinks the leftover gravy 🤷

ThePurpleMoose · 28/12/2019 14:12

I'm a known 'gravy face' and I wouldn't do it, but only because I'd find it too salty to drink on its own without being on anything. If I had it like soup with a nice bit of bread or some leftover potatoes...now that's another matter Grin

dArtagnansCrumpet · 28/12/2019 14:13

Hope you dipped bread in it first!

Dacquoise · 28/12/2019 14:13

Gravy is made from stock which is the base of most soups so not sure why this would be unreasonable. You have had some turkey soup!
