AIBU in drinking a mug of gravy?

The same as a cup of tea. Even looks like tea/coffee. Except has little bits of bacon and herbs floating in it as it's leftover Christmas gravy.

It's absolutely delicious. DH thinks I'm vile. AIBU?

I make such good gravy I’d happily drink a mug full!
It’s the only thing I’m good at so allowed to boast Grin

🤢

LeggyLinda · 28/12/2019 14:44

At first I thought “weird”. But then I remembered that I occasionally have a bowl of OXO or a bug of bovril - which is essentially gravy.
Bacon and herbs in sounds nice. The only thing that would put me off is that it’s leftover from Christmas - was it still OK?

I drink bisto (I know it's not 'proper' gravy but I can't make a decent veggie gravy). Love it with bread and butter to dunk!

Gravy bars will be the next big thing after the Italian coffee shop fad passes.

The last of the Xmas gravy. Brew it's bloody beautiful.

Looks lush. I'd be dipping bread in it.

🤢🤮🤮🤮🤢

LoseLooseLucy · 28/12/2019 21:41

Yesss OP, I'd have it like a soup with buttered bread.

Helini · 28/12/2019 21:41

@userxx see, a nice crusty roll with lashings of salted butter would be lovely. Or a left over, hollowed out roast potateo. But we only have some limp kingsmill 50/50 Xmas Blush

I've had to abandon the beef tea half way as baby DS has woken up and needs a cuddle. It will be, at best, like warm by the time I get out. Angry

Beef tea! Go for it.

Aren't hipsters into bone broth nowadays?
DM used to make that from the carved down carcass/joint bone, mix with leftover gravy and serve it under the name of 'Brown Windsor'.

My husband once gave our piano tuner a mug of chicken gravy instead of coffee. Nobody in our family drinks coffee so we have a jar of instant stuff just for visitors and it is true that it is a similar shape, colour and size to the gravy granules jar. I would have thought the smell might have given DH a clue, but it seems not. By the sounds of things quite a few people do drink gravy, so it might not have been too bad if the piano tuner drank black coffee. Unfortunately however, he likes it white with one sugar. Confused

goodwinter · 28/12/2019 23:36

No different than a cup-a-soup I guess. Crack on.

BilboBercow · 28/12/2019 23:41

Jesus. It's like that episode of Only Fools and Horses where Albert mixes up the coffee pot with the gravy boat.
"They've only gone and done it. They're in there pouring Maxwell bloody House all over their dinner"

MashedSpud · 28/12/2019 23:41

I accidentally voted yanbu. 🤢🤮

TheCanyon · 28/12/2019 23:56

@MAFIL i feel sick thinking of that. When I was 15 and went to stay at the boyfriends while he was still out his dm offered me a cup of tea. Got the weirdest tasting shit ever, a cup of earl grey, bloody love that stuff now when im unwell.
