What would you do if your 25 year old came home with a 61 year old?

I'm talking about Madonna and her "new" toyboy lover. Apparently they have been seeing each other for a year and are planning a future together. AIBU in thinking I would have her arse kicked?

touchdaqueef OMG hadn't seen that - now I now where Carol Voderman gets her inspiration - and no, I wouldn't be happy if one of my sons brought her home either Grin.

Susan from Sainsbury's - well done you!

VanyaHargreeves I think you're taking the comment a bit too seriously.

Butchyrestingface · 22/12/2019 16:14

In your eyes, presumably the latter, I think that's a horrible way to describe another woman

I hadn’t heard the expression either. Closest I’ve heard was “bang that like a storm door in a hurricane”. But then, I was raises by nuns. 👼 🙏

Not that I am entirely convinced Madonna herself would disapprove of the description.

OP, YABU. He is well over the age of consent and I suspect, has a good handle on what he’s doing.

VanyaHargreeves · 22/12/2019 16:14

Fair enough, I can find it rather crass, whilst at the same time you find it amusing, and you know what the world doesn't end.

glitterytrainers · 22/12/2019 16:24

Butchyrestingface I think Madonna would relish the idea of having that reputation. I was asking what you would do if your son brought her home - completely different thing when it's a stranger's 25 year old.

hiredandsqueak · 22/12/2019 16:25

I'd mind my own business as I would with any other relationship. If he brought her round I'd offer her tea and cake and hopefully she'd have plenty of interesting tales to tell.

Butchyrestingface · 22/12/2019 16:27

I know what you were asking. But you posted on AIBU and gave posters voting options. Hence, I think YABU.

As for what I’d do, can’t possibly know until it happens. I would hope that my hypothetical daughter-in-law would have room in her purse heart for her old mum though. Crown Grin

Bluerussian · 22/12/2019 16:29

Most parents would be - at very least - aghast at such an age difference whether their child was a boy or girl, however there's nothing to be done because the chap in question is a grown man. It's hardly going to last, it's just a fling or affair, a bit of fun maybe. It's a pity Madonna has such a high profile, if she was Thelma from Greggs nobody would notice :-). Or a very glamorous professional woman, not a celeb or showbiz type.

In her place, I wouldn't want anyone to know, half the fun would be in the secrecy! Easier to let go in that case too.

Didn't Stephen Fry marry a chap in his twenties a few years ago?
Barbara Windsor's husband is very much younger than her, they've been married some years now.

I doubt this pair are thinking of marriage - hope not anyway.

Aridane · 22/12/2019 16:29

High five him if it were Madonna (and try not to gush too much )

Butchyrestingface · 22/12/2019 16:31

Didn't Stephen Fry marry a chap in his twenties a few years ago?

Looks like a kidnapping, that one.

Jux · 22/12/2019 16:32

Stephen Fry. How is hid marriage going, anyone know?

sweeneytoddsrazor · 22/12/2019 16:37

Wouldn't be keen on my Ds bringing home Madonna but wouldn't be to upset if my DD came home with George Clooney. Grin

Befriend the 61 year old and sit knitting and gossiping together, invite the toy boy to go to the bingo with you both and the attraction would probably soon wane.

CrissmussMockers · 22/12/2019 16:54

What would you do?

Put on your Mrs Merton wig and glasses and ask what was it that attracted you to the multimillionaire songstress?

AnFiadhRuaRua · 22/12/2019 16:55

What a thought.

How can Madonna really be interested in a 25 year old? What the hell. From the POV of the 25 year old, he's being used as penis fodder really. He may be happy with that though, so interfering would be pointless.

AnFiadhRuaRua · 22/12/2019 16:56

@sweeneytoddsrazor maybe your DS will come home with George Clooney?

glitterytrainers · 22/12/2019 16:56

halocompanach eh if I'm knitting and going to bingo at 61 just shoot me now Grin

And about the comment about bringing George Clooney home - would definitely not be upset if I had a daughter and she brought him home!

halocompanach · 22/12/2019 16:58

He probably has the better deal, she gets a bit of the action and he gets a slice of the dollars. I can't see how anybody could have a sexual relationship with somebody about the same age as their child.

NannyKasey · 22/12/2019 17:02

I'd much prefer my DS going out with Deirdre from Greggs if she gets staff discount on Steak Bakes. DS has said that he doesn't want children so a DiL with a Greggs discount would be a winwin in my book Grin, even though she would be 6 years older than me and my xH would be horrified (another winwin Grin)

flickeringcandle45 · 22/12/2019 17:03

This is market forces at work.

He has something that she wants.

She has something that he wants.

Presumably both will be happy for a while and then they can move on.

halocompanach · 22/12/2019 17:04

That's almost like a prayer there @NannyKasey.

Stockmarketup · 22/12/2019 17:05

I didn’t know about this relationship, but as Madonna ages, she’s definitely getting creepier and more desperate to seem youthful. I wish she’d disappear into obscurity (although I think that about lots of ‘slebs’).
Ugh.

lilgreen · 22/12/2019 17:05

Wonder what he finds attractive in the billionaire superstar🤔
