I went on a date today, and it was lovely.

I've had a really shit few years. Really shit. Had my heart broken, become chronically ill, just had loads of crap going on. Had given up hope of finding anybody lovely who would look past all my medical issues and see me for who I was, and be interested in that person. But today I had a coffee date, and it was brilliant, and I didn't want to leave to pick the kids up. And we're having lunch on Thursday. And even if things don't pan out, I would very happily be friends with him, he's really funny and thoughtful.

I'm holding fire a bit with mine but they're a bit younger and get attached to people really quickly, especially my 9yo. They're super keen to meet mine too though.

You've all been lush, so I wanted to pop back to tell you I had my first day of work today. It was amazing! My new manager and team are lush (I'm back at my pre-collapse place of work but in a different team) and it was great to catch up with old colleagues. I had a fabulous day and am so happy being back to doing what I love.

Relationship is also going amazingly well, he's lovely and I'm quite besotted. The day after I got the news about the job I came home to this which just about made my year!

Just popping back to let you know that I am still stupidly loved up. The kids have met him and think he's awesome, and he took them out for the day in half term so I could get my regular treatment at hospital because their dad let me down.

He runs me baths, makes sure I eat, puts a blanket on me when I fall asleep on the sofa, and tells me every day that I'm beautiful and he loves me.

So glad I decided to give it one last shot before I joined a nunnery.
