I went on a date today, and it was lovely.

I've had a really shit few years. Really shit. Had my heart broken, become chronically ill, just had loads of crap going on. Had given up hope of finding anybody lovely who would look past all my medical issues and see me for who I was, and be interested in that person. But today I had a coffee date, and it was brilliant, and I didn't want to leave to pick the kids up. And we're having lunch on Thursday. And even if things don't pan out, I would very happily be friends with him, he's really funny and thoughtful.

Squee.

Sorry, as you were. Just a bit of niceness on a Tuesday.

That’s wonderful OP. So pleased for you. Nothing beats a first date that leaves you giddy and smiling and anticipating what’s to come.

I experienced the same thing nearly a year ago and we’re still together. Still gives me butterflies whenever I see him!

Do you have another date planned?

Welshmaenad · 25/12/2019 00:48

The cats adored him. They were very pleased when he came over this evening (I'm alone over Xmas as the kids are at their father's). He arrived with ice cream, sweets and flowers, we ate party food and watched Netflix. It was lovely.

I found him on Tinder - a rare find indeed!
