Partner put plastic tray in oven. Angry

I have got the plastic out of the bottom of the oven but it has encased the shelves so you can't even get a knife in it to ping it off.

Any tips?

Make him do it, it's his problem, not yours! If he can't figure it out, he pays to get it done professionally!

Natural consequences and all that.

GummyGoddess · 15/12/2019 13:23

New shelves?

BathHell · 15/12/2019 13:23

Get a new husband.

Ice the plaster then scrape away at it when it's brittle and unstable. Long job.

GreenTulips · 15/12/2019 13:24

If it’s plastic on a metal wired shelf - have you tried heating it up over a BBQ for example?

Myusername101 · 15/12/2019 13:24

I told him that. He is currently blunting all my knives stabbing at it like a mad man while telling me it's not helping Angry

Redshoeblueshoe · 15/12/2019 13:24

ISmellBabies · 15/12/2019 13:25

Why the fuck are you the one trying to fix it? Get his useless arse to look up how to fix it and then tell him to get the fuck on with it. Unbefuckinglievable!

PullingMySocksUp · 15/12/2019 13:25

Warm it up slightly I would think.

MulticolourTinselOnTheTree · 15/12/2019 13:25

X post.

Get him to buy some new shelves then.

Myusername101 · 15/12/2019 13:25

Have no bbq. Could put it back in the oven I guess. Freezing it and smashing it I will try first thank you

Sharpen the knives, carve him then cook him in the oven and feed him to the police?

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 15/12/2019 13:27

heat it again to melt it....cook's blowtorch??
or a gas hob? Waft the shelf over the flame
really hot water? and sharp sharp knife?

watch the fumes if you reheat it

Can only agree with@Bathhell and @AfterSchoolWorry ...this is HIS problem and maybe replace him if the shelves are beyond redemption

Sgtmajormummy · 15/12/2019 13:27

If you have a chest freezer, put the shelves in that, then DH can chip away with a barbecue scraper.
Should be a great Sunday funday memory for him!

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/m.wikihow.com/Clean-Melted-Plastic-Out-of-an-Oven%3famp=1

There’s no wiki link on how to kill him @Myusername101.. if I find one, I’ll link it!

ElluesPichulobu · 15/12/2019 15:50

I did this once.

it was a brilliant way to clean off all the burned scraps at the bottom of the oven.

for shelf, he should reheat to 200c and then attack with wire wool (wearing kitchen gloves) while you have a cuppa.

IdblowJonSnow · 15/12/2019 15:51

Why do we marry them...
Xmas Angry
What a twonk.
Would a professional oven cleaner do it? And of course dh pays.

Lex234 · 15/12/2019 15:52

Shock OMFG! You could possibly try oven pride, that seems to melt through everything but get a face mask, I wouldn't like to think of what fumes that might produce!

Sorry @Myusername101 I'm going to have to be the one to ask, how the fuck did he do this?

minniemoll · 15/12/2019 16:02

A chisel would probably be more effective than your kitchen knives....

VenusTiger · 15/12/2019 16:12

New oven from partner... sales are on, get shopping... I dread to think what fumes are in your kitchen... you didn’t eat the food from it did you?
