Partner put plastic tray in oven. Angry

I have got the plastic out of the bottom of the oven but it has encased the shelves so you can't even get a knife in it to ping it off.

Any tips?

I did this once, I turned the oven on and waited until it was just warm enough to scrape the plastic off, then I got the rest off with wire wool.

Lex234 · 15/12/2019 17:18

Any luck OP? Hope he has managed to get it off the oven (and have had a large glass of wine!)

FFS It's like you women have never made a mistake. I do all the cooking. I iron. When I get home I empty washing machine after a 10 hour day. I pick up my daughter, run my wife a bath for when she gets home from one of her 4 nights at the gym and still get fucked up and down for any slight misdemeanours. It's just possible that we are not the antichrist and the ridiculous standards set by half the hormonal ocd raging women in the world should be questioned.

EasterIssland · 16/12/2019 22:22

Just put the oven on and husband inside. Don’t forget to close the door. At least one od your doubts will be resolved like this.

Maybe Jake is manopausal?

Andysbestadventure · 16/12/2019 22:48

OP just turn the oven on for five minutes until they're soft and should peel right now

SpoonBlender · 16/12/2019 22:49

Make him use his teeth and fingernails. What an eedjit.

Andysbestadventure · 16/12/2019 22:49

Oh and @Jake2206 your wife is probably shagging her personal trainer 😂

doubleshotespresso · 16/12/2019 22:53

OP if you use a vegetable peeler along the racks the plastic will shred and you be able to peel it off

RoomR0613 · 16/12/2019 22:53

Jake just warm it up a bit and it should peel right off.

Can't help you on the rest of it. Perhaps you need a spa break?

Jake2206 · 16/12/2019 22:55

I hope so. Her pt is female 😂

Jake2206 · 16/12/2019 22:59

Anyway I'm off. Im sure I shouldn't be on this forum. It popped up on my phone about the melting thing. I left a plastic dust pan by my log burner and it obviously melted, so thought I'd just take a peak. Good night all 👍

IM0GEN · 16/12/2019 22:59

Jake you should pop over to netmums, they love men there.

Op, I have a shovel and a patio.

RoomR0613 · 16/12/2019 23:01

It popped up on my phone about the melting thing No it didn't

maryboleyn · 16/12/2019 23:03

I'll provide an alibi

GoodDogBellaBoo · 16/12/2019 23:19

Turn on the oven again and make him breathe in that toxic heated plastic. That should do if you really want to murder him.

Mrsmorton · 16/12/2019 23:54

Has anyone suggested sex lube and a fish slice?

Babdoc · 17/12/2019 09:16

There are professional oven cleaning services, who will come to your home and sort this fairly cheaply.
Alternatively if it's just the shelves affected, you can usually get replacement shelves from the manufacturer.
As for DH - I believe there are professional hitmen who will come to your home and sort this. Or you can get a replacement...Grin

Ellybellyboo · 17/12/2019 09:20

I did this to our oven

I turned the oven on again and peeled it off once it had melted enough

TartanMarbled · 17/12/2019 09:21

Buy new shelves. They're not expensive.

MatildaTheCat · 17/12/2019 09:26

I don’t have an answer but very highly recommend Lakeland oven liners for protecting the floor of your oven. Brilliant and I’ve had mine about 20years.

Get the professionals in for this fiasco.
