DD aged 3 saw me changing a sanitary pad after DS was born. She was concerned so I explained that mammies bleed for a little while after babies are born, but not to worry because it doesn’t hurt. She went downstairs and proudly announced to DP that when she’s a big girl, she’ll have a baby and bleed out of her vagina and get to wear a sticker in her knickers just like Mammy 😂

Frenchw1fe · 12/12/2019 20:09

The first time my son saw smoke he pointed 'look Mummy, dirty rain.'
I disturbed my dd one day and she said 'excuse me, I'm trying to consecrate.'
She was 4. At 7 she told me she didn't mind having 1 baby or even twins but she was definitely never having twiglets.

BikeRunSki · 12/12/2019 20:32

When DS was 3, he asked when we would get the Asians out for Christmas. He meant decorations. He’s 11 now, we still have Christmas Asians.

Natsku · 12/12/2019 20:37

My DD called vitamins mehmets and I still call them that now and she's nearly 9. Now her little brother calls them meh-mehs. I love it.

He also calls bananas 'balaa' which I feel will stick as well, but even more amusingly he also calls his sister 'balaa' Grin

hungrywalrus · 12/12/2019 20:45

One day the power supply tripped on the while street so all the lights were out. For fine reason my DS woke up when it was pitch black. The next thing we hear was screaming. My DH rushes into his room and DS screams ‘MY EYES! MY EYES!’ He thought he had gone blind.

Obviously we comforted him but it’s hilarious now.

NaviSprite · 12/12/2019 20:52

My DD is enamoured with our big grumpy ginger cat and follows him wherever she can, she recently learned “get down” as a phrase as we say it an awful lot to said grumpy cat when he’s sniffing around DD’s and DS’s dinner. Promptly followed by him being placed on the floor away from their food. So when he jumps up to a high place to avoid her she shouts “get down” in a very authoritative little voice and now even follows it with pointing at the floor.

DS is convinced a Fork is pronounced Fuck and will say it when he’s hungry... which obviously makes people look at me in horror, he shouted it at his Doctors appointment yesterday afternoon Blush

nevergotthehangofthursdays · 12/12/2019 21:37

Not one of mine thankfully Grin but a friend's little boy some years ago. She was discussing his behaviour with the NQT doing maternity cover for the class and he overheard the teacher and said 'Keep your knickers on love.' Shock My friend didn't know whether to laugh or wish the ground would swallow her.

newnamewhosthis · 12/12/2019 21:41

My DD who is 3 calls her belly button her beep beep 😂.

She also says itchy like eeechyyy and often uses that instead of scratch. Normally along the line of Mummy I need to eeechyyy my bum 🙈

There's so many more comical things I just can't remember will update again if I do.

Crispyturtle · 12/12/2019 22:10

DD2 called her belly button her ‘tummy bottom’ Grin

DD1 calls wind screen wipers ‘wind screamers’

When DD1 was smaller she called her slippers ‘dickpeas’. No idea where that came from but it stuck, me and DH still call them dickpeas Grin

Man, I love kids!

Eminybob · 12/12/2019 22:10

This was a conversation between me and DS1 while I was pregnant with DS2.

DS - how is the baby going to come out of your tummy?

Me - err Blush there’s a hole

DS - can I see it?

Me - NO!

shinynewapplesonachristmastree · 12/12/2019 22:25

No small people here but my dog just said 'hello'!! When he wants something he normally makes strange purring noises but today he distinctly said 'hello'! 🐶Grin

Tillygetsit · 12/12/2019 23:40

My lovely niece (4) told the chemist that she thought she had nits up her bum!

salsmum · 13/12/2019 01:30

My 4 year old DGS was chatting to my DS the other day and my DS was playfully winding him up when my DGS declared 'your worse than your father you are 😵🤣🤣🤦‍♀️ when my DIL said who's daddy's father he said grandad of course.we all laughed at his off the cuff remark.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 13/12/2019 01:38

Phew, thanks for the lovely thread, most definitely needed Wine

Last week I caught my toddler DS being suspiciously quiet behind the sofa. He was 'reading' a book and had placed a book open in front of the cat for her to read too Grin tbf she does think she's one of the dc

RedCatTail · 13/12/2019 02:04

My 5 year old has decided she's not just a sheep in her christmas play, she's the jumping sheep

steff13 · 13/12/2019 02:13

My daughter is 9. She was singing, "here at the fro-yo, fro-yo banannnnaaa." I told her it was Copa Cabana. 🙄🤣

Peccary · 13/12/2019 05:24

DD (2 1/2) is currently very in to her play kitchen. She says "mummy, I'm cocking"

Whenever she has three toys (Playmobil or stuffed animal etc) similar but different sizes they are daddy, mummy and DD.

Tobebythesea · 13/12/2019 05:43

When my 3 year old walks around day dreaming she says she is story dreaming. Smile.

She calls her belly button her teddy button and a cuddle a cuggle (I don’t correct her!)

A wood pecker is a pecker wood.

Tobebythesea · 13/12/2019 05:46

When she is tired and rubbing her eyes and doesn’t want to admit she’s tired she says she’s “Just got glitter in my eyes”.

Tobebythesea · 13/12/2019 05:48

Her dressing gown is a cosy.

I’ll stop now!

AGnu · 13/12/2019 05:52

Yesterday, as I was getting her ready for bed, my 2yo looked apprehensively towards the curtains & said "Rainin'." I agreed it was indeed raining, at which point she started whimpering softly & said, "No, rainin'. Turn off rainin'!" & kept repeating while I tried to explain I couldn't turn the rain off. She was very disappointed in me. I'm a failure as a mother.

TulipCat · 13/12/2019 05:59

My neice was watching the Lion King. She pointed to a hyena and asked what it was. I said "That's a hyena". She then pointed to another one, which was lying down and said "And that's a low-ena" 😀 😁

BikeRunSki · 13/12/2019 07:43

I say to my DD6 most nights that I need to tell her something really important, she sighs and says “yes, yes, I know. You love me so much”.

Tough crowd.
