My one year old loves to hug any teddies/dolls he sees and goes ahh as he does. We go to a singing session where they leave teddies all over the floor and he goes round cuddling them and then moves onto the next

Spidey66 · 12/12/2019 12:16

*We were choosing music to listen to, my DD wanted to listen to "Martin & The Housewives"

The Housemartins.*

Your daughter (and you) have cool music taste. I was listening to them this morning to get me in the mood for voting. They were my favourite band back in the day.

managedmis · 12/12/2019 12:17

My son, when 6, made me an xmas card with Darth Vader wearing an xmas hat, and captioned it 'I am your Father. Christmas' 😄

^

Now that's clever!

inthekitchensink · 12/12/2019 12:18

Dd3 sings Alice mummy duck instead of feliz navidad, happy new ears, and we all want some fizzy pudding. I love Christmas this year, she makes me giggle every day

crispysausagerolls · 12/12/2019 12:20

@SquareAsABlock HAHAHHA!

@Ewanismydreamsheep my DS is like this. He’s so used to people saying “awww” when he does something/anything sweet that now when he does it he says it himself. Ditto clapping himself for solving puzzles correctly etc.

Winterdaysarehere · 12/12/2019 12:21

Oldest ds is now 27 but still remember telling him I loved him at about 3. He just smiled silently. I said it would be nice if you said something to me. He said 'thanks'!!

Silverflake · 12/12/2019 12:23

My three year old woke up asking how elephants drink (she must have been dreaming about it) so the first thing we did this morning was watch videos of elephants drinking on YouTube

Camomila · 12/12/2019 12:26

Bought DS 3.5 some kellogs multigrain shapes as a treat as they were on offer in Aldi (usually has own brand hoops or rice krispies), He came into the kitchen and gave the box a kiss and a cuddle, so easily pleased!

The other night I was reading him stories in bed and he said 'I love you mamma' Then he stroked my face and said 'your face is like a rectangle'

UnalliterativeGeorge · 12/12/2019 12:29

We just made our Christmas cake and DD3 kept asking to use the splatula.

ChaiNashta · 12/12/2019 12:30

My DS keeps wishing me a 'Happy New You'.

rosegoldivy · 12/12/2019 12:31

@willyoudothefandango

Hahahahahahah that is the best yet

CroissantsAtDawn · 12/12/2019 12:31

When he was 4, DS 2 burst into tears and wailed "Mummy! Ds1 bless you'd on my face!" (Sneezed)

livelyredjellybean · 12/12/2019 12:33

Was my DD’s 3rd birthday last weekend and ever since she’s been going round wishing everyone a happy birthday by singing the song at them 😂 All parcels that arrive to the house are presents, too.

vampirethriller · 12/12/2019 12:37

My daughter is one and just started kissing things, today it's the TV remote. She also strokes the dog and says "pasta, pasta." The dog's name isn't Pasta!

QuestionableMouse · 12/12/2019 12:41

My nephew is 3 and a half and is adorable right now.

We had been to a Carol service a few nights ago and he was cold when we got in. I was making toast and he was holding his hands above the toaster. The toast popped so he sighed and said "thank you Mr toaster for making my hands warm and making me toast."

He sleeps over one night a week and has a pool noodle under his sheet so he doesn't roll out of bed. It's yellow so he calls it a chip. It got in his way one morning and he was like. "Auntie! The blooming chip is in the way and I can't get out of bed!"

Can't wait until his little brother starts talking properly!

nomorewinedayfriday · 12/12/2019 12:42

Talking to my 3 year old DS about all the jobs he can help us do when he becomes a big brother - you can read to baby, sing to baby etc etc. When I said you can help mummy wash the baby he replied - yes mummy. In the washing machine 😬

JoGose · 12/12/2019 12:44

My 3 year old DD calls goose bumps ghost bumps, and every time she gets them she convinces us she’s a ghost

Ewanismydreamsheep · 12/12/2019 12:44

@crispysausagerolls I think we started it too because he was very enthusiastic about our cats so we’d go ahh and be gentle.

He also has an obsession with ceiling lights and sits pointing to them all back and forth

Natsku · 12/12/2019 12:53

Before my toddler learnt to say mummy he would call me 'Booby' - first thing he'd say to me when he saw me in the morning was "Hello Booby!" He's breastfed still, as I'm sure you can tell Grin

When my oldest was 3 or 4 she asked me, very seriously, "Can I put my fingers in my bum?"

Mypathtriedtokillme · 12/12/2019 13:03

My almost 3 year old greets her 5 year old sister at school pick up with a “Oh it’s my Maymay! I love you!” Yelled at the top of her lungs and a cuddle every day.
They also hug each other goodbye each morning at school drop off.
(Then they get home and argue about everything)

notfromstepford · 12/12/2019 13:04

DS is 3 and this week has come out with "Bloody shit - look at that traffic mummy - get out of the way I'm late" Blush

He can't say massive, says maffiss which makes me smile.

merryhouse · 12/12/2019 13:11

"you can do that to daddy [squash his chest] because daddy not got any nurse"

in the shower "mummy's penis is broken"

scary bit of Philosopher's Stone: "run, Harry Pottermus!"

Now they're both bigger than me. Older one will go "peow!" {or however that should be represented} at the appropriate point of the theme tunes for HIGNFY, Cats does Countdown and QI, and then grin at me. Younger one rolls his eyes at us...

crispysausagerolls · 12/12/2019 13:12

natsku

I read Booby as Bobby and loved it even more! 😂

Honeybee85 · 12/12/2019 13:18

My DS is too small but something funny DB did when he was only 2 years old. DM took him to sunday service in the local church for the first time and he started shouting : Shut your trap! Shut your trap! at the vicar during the sermon.

I secretly thought it was hilarious but DM was obviously mortified.

EmmaJR1 · 12/12/2019 13:25

My 2.5 yo is going through a shouty stage. Yesterday he was shouting at the top
Of his voice in Homebase. "Mummy where are you?" Over and over... 2 staff members cane running thinking he was a lost child. I was right there with the buggy that he was strapped into...
