To think the labour campaigning in here is the new "project fear"

Just that really, because you know if you don't vote Labour people will DIE

Baguetteaboutit · 12/12/2019 09:20

I think both sides are at it, tbh. I'm sick of the lot of them.

Greysparkles · 12/12/2019 09:21

Honestly can't wait for this election to be over

CendrillonSings · 12/12/2019 09:23

It’s a load of rubbish. As if people are going to queue up to have their pockets picked by a cabal of far-left antisemites.

Bluntness100 · 12/12/2019 09:23

I've never seen anything like it. The sheer amount of pro labour posts and threads. Yes both sides are at it, but the pro labour ones are way more.

Interestingly I was watching some labour person being interviewed and they were asked why no leaflets posters etc, and the woman said because we are focusing on social media.

I immediately thought of this site.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 12/12/2019 09:23

There is something sickening condescending about Labour voters on this forum, ignorant of the fact these "promises" arent deliverable or their leader is a terrorist loving anti Semite.

CactusAndCacti · 12/12/2019 09:25

Well people have died under the previous government so it isn't exactly project fear is it.

Do you honestly think life will immediately get better once the Tory's get back in? They say JC has a magic money tree, yet they seem to have found theirs.

Theworldisfullofgs · 12/12/2019 09:26

That's interesting. All I've really seen is pro tory voters telling people they will be poorer and living in a semi communist state.

I'm a floating voter and I'm much more worried about an ERG future (I think the tories should be renamed). I think it depends what threads you go on, like anything.

Greysparkles · 12/12/2019 09:29

I'm a floating voter myself, but just this morning I have seen nearly a dozen threads on here telling people they're selfish and people will die etc etc. Tbh all its doing is turning me off voting Labour!

Just that really, because you know if you don't vote Labour people will DIE

Well that is factually accurate. The more you invest in the NHS the fewer people will die prematurely. The more you invest generally the less homelessness you have and the fewer people who die on the streets. It's unlikely to be someone you know who dies but people will absolutely die and have already died due to lack of investment in public services. Likewise lack of investment in mental health services means more suicides and more people unable to function. This is just statistical fact.

You don't have to vote for higher taxes to prevent those deaths but you do have to accept reality that less investment in public services = more death and suffering.

DingDongDenny · 12/12/2019 09:32

People have already died under welfare reform. That's not project fear, it's fact:

www.centreforwelfarereform.org/news/government-plling-people/00348.html

But then tory voters only care if it impacts them directly. God forbid you might have a bit less disposable income while a disabled person is put through hell in transfer to PIP

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 12/12/2019 09:34

Wonder how the many women will die due to Labour's self ID policy removing women's sex based protections within the Equality Act 2010.

CripsSandwiches · 12/12/2019 09:35

Vote however you like but if you're pretending that lack of investment in social care doesn't result in people dying then you're delusional. People have died waiting for ambulances, people have died waiting to see doctors in hospitals, people have committed suicide while waiting for mental health work. This is all due to lack of investment. You should at least take responsibility for the consequences of how you vote. Pretending people don't die because of lack of investment is simply delusional.

CripsSandwiches · 12/12/2019 09:35

Wonder how the many women will die due to Labour's self ID policy removing women's sex based protections within the Equality Act 2010.

Zero so far - how many people have died waiting for an ambulance?

CendrillonSings · 12/12/2019 09:38

God forbid you might have a bit less disposable income

If Labour gets in on its far-left manifesto, the bond markets will raise the cost of lending to Britain to crippling levels. Since the country has to refinance a couple of hundred billion pounds of its long-term debt each and every year, that will put a colossal burden on our public finances.

A crashed economy leaves no money for anyone, starting with the poorest.

PinkCrayon · 12/12/2019 09:44

They are closing the a and e near where I live in a town with a very large population ever increasing population, they don't give a shit. People are going to die.

In regards to project fear that's absolute rubbish, the whole slogan of "get brexit done" being rammed down voters throats is to create fear like he's the only one who can do it. Its ironic really as he has already failed at it and he won't get it done it will take years to implement even if he was to be able to get something through so that's a lie in itself as well as the constant lies his party churns out😂
Labour voters want you to wake up which is understandable.
Stop thinking the tories care about you, they don't hence why are NHS and public services are a mess.

PinkCrayon · 12/12/2019 09:45

pootroll · 12/12/2019 09:54

I don’t think it’s ‘project fear’. It’s fact that people have died due to austerity and the Conservative and Unionist party.

I’ve seen far more Tory bots spreading lies, just like their advertising campaign.

Economists agree that a Labour Government is far better for the economy as published in the FT.

Clavinova · 12/12/2019 09:59

Economists agree that a Labour Government is far better for the economy as published in the FT.

Including 15 'economists' working at the University of Greenwich - ranked 67th in the UK for economics.

Selfsettling3 · 12/12/2019 10:01

Women are more likely to vote for labour than Conservatives so it’s not unreasonable that more people on MN would vote labour.

ItsNearlyMorning · 12/12/2019 10:04

Yep my Facebook ( including my sons special school parents group ffs) is full of people putting the fear of god into others.
It's ridiculous.

peachescariad · 12/12/2019 10:05

JC and Pink News:

Can we be reassured that the Gender Recognition Act will be reformed and fixed to ensure the safety, protection and validation of trans and non-binary people in the UK?

Can you promise us that this will be put into action, rather than simply saying you will, when you become prime minister?*

JC - Yes, I can definitely promise that, because this is long overdue. We will reform the Gender Recognition Act to include self-identification for trans people – and we will make sure the voices of non-binary people are finally heard in our review of the GRA consultation.
Trans people will no longer have to endure invasive, dehumanising and lengthy processes in order to have their gender recognised. And we’ll also amend the Equality Act 2010.

We need to remove the outdated language in there, and we’re going to ensure there are proper protections for trans people against discrimination.

This Angry

Ok Torybot 👍🏻 @clavinova

GinDaddy · 12/12/2019 10:11

I have been a lifelong Labour voter (perhaps until now!) but my god, I cannot stand the general tone, approach and attitude of our current Labour leadership and campaigners.

The very worst thing about Labour's campaigning and many of our supporters, is how earnest everyone is. It's like people have forgotten how to seduce and argue and interact - it's all "If you have a heart, you MUST do this!"

How on earth do people think folk react to being guilt tripped all the time? Do they think that people who vote Tory, automatically don't care about their loved ones? It's low-rent campaigning from people who fail to see how they switch folk off with their approach.

And then we have the fingers-in-ear approach from the leader himself, ignoring the huge wave of people who just don't like anti-Semitism or discrimination, and recognise it when they see it.

The leadership is so agog to the fact that they've found a huge new voter base, that they fail to see how it won't translate to key marginals and seats. Preaching to the converted could have been the name of the Labour manifesto.

YANBU at all.

Clavinova · 12/12/2019 10:13

Ok Torybot
I'm not a Torybot - I've probably been on Mumsnet for 10 years plus now.
