I’m very excited about my unicorns come Friday that will be arriving on Friday when labour get into power. I just need a big enough garden for it but I’m hoping Labour will give that to me too along with my free broadband and everything else they have promised!!

Right wing press - 85% of the press in this country is owned by 4 companies funded by billionaires. We pay more now in subsidies for the railways and water than we did when they were nationalised. We don't stop paying when things are private. Can anyone honestly say they are happier now with the private energy market. Companies like EDF are foreign state owned and charge their own citizens a fraction of the price they charge us. None of this is disputed.

XingMing · 11/12/2019 21:20

News is tomorrow's history. You may need to treat the news pages with scepticism, but the financial news pages operate to a rather different agenda/yardstick, and I don't think you would find many subscribers there.

bigvig · 11/12/2019 21:21

poster user1471510720 - you're obviously an idiot or a conservative troll paid to post shite so I'll leave you to it.

XingMing · 11/12/2019 21:23

Bigvig, if you are still buying your utilities there, there are better options. Google is your friend. Martin Lewis money saving expert might be a useful starting point.

Which is code for... ODFO and stop treating us as morons.

1moreRep · 11/12/2019 21:23

god this is why i am seriously confused on who to vote for, i don't trust any of them.

quitecontrary123 · 11/12/2019 21:23

You can stable it in your fridge alongside your Tory leader.

NameChangeNugget · 11/12/2019 21:24

Bring it on. Free WiFi, a 4 day week, what’s not to like Grin

DeathStare · 11/12/2019 21:26

Amazing how the right wing press have managed to convince some people that Labour's promises are wild and extreme

I can't get past this either. There are lists and lists of the world's most respected economists who say Labour's policies are balanced and achievable. Yet people choose to listen to a load of columnists instead

XingMing · 11/12/2019 21:28

Only because I am 63, not 23. And I have lived through several political cycles in two countries, have friends who have lived in another 20, and have a degree in politics.

user1471510720 · 11/12/2019 21:30

@bigvig

That’s right some one has spotted you talking BS, and you call them an idiot. Typical poorly educated leftist.

fromthefloorboardsup · 11/12/2019 21:34

Labour are a democratic socialist party not a Marxist party.

fromthefloorboardsup · 11/12/2019 21:36

@1morerep What's the most important issue for you?

XingMing · 11/12/2019 21:38

I know, you're going to quote Scandinavian countries. Until oil was discovered, they sold matches, plus some steel products. And none of the Scandinavian countries has a population above 12 million people, in a land area several times the UK. The UK is a bit like the Netherlands with a huge population and a small land area, with a liberal benevolent outlook and a huge tolerance for diversity. All of which is good. But it can become strained, when half of Somalia would like to move in. Somalia is bigger in land area than the UK/Netherlands together, but it was just (very) badly governed.

It took Europe 600 years and a lot of wars to achieve its privileged status and the democratic freedoms we rely on.

XingMing · 11/12/2019 21:43

@fromthefloorboardsup, that's not what John McDonnell says about his views. He's a socialist, born from Marxism, in his own words.

user1471510720 · 11/12/2019 21:44

Did someone just say that Labour are a Democratic Socialist Party😂.

It’s pointless on here, there are just too many morons.

Jc and his chief advisor, wrote for the Morning star, ( British communism party).

Jc doesn’t want democracy he wants you to be poor.

TrainspottingWelsh · 11/12/2019 21:45

I envisage my unicorns causing some practical problems. I had been planning to put them in with the horses, but when the red army of the democratic socialist Labour Party seize my land for the comrades many, not just the few, it's going to get a bit crowded in the house.

But so worth it because I'll have free broadband.

fromthefloorboardsup · 11/12/2019 21:45

He's one person, the Labour Party is over half a million people. The membership card says democratic socialism.

XingMing · 11/12/2019 21:46

Somalia was just a random country, because I read Ayaan Hirsi's book, and she was Somali. It's a good read, terrifying though, but instructive.

fromthefloorboardsup · 11/12/2019 21:47

And Labour policy is voted on by committee not one or two people.

fromthefloorboardsup · 11/12/2019 21:50

@user1471510720 why all the insults?

user1471510720 · 11/12/2019 21:51

And you think they listen to the membership😂😂, comrade fromthefloorsboardsup ?

KnowBetterDoBetter · 11/12/2019 21:55

I'd rather vote for a party that at least actively wants to make the country better, rather than one who wants more of the same shit we've been living in.

It was only a few months ago that the United Nations called our poverty levels 'tragic and systematic' - and stated that they were the result of 'punitive, mean-spirited and callous' Conservative political choices.

Oh goody, can't wait to see what another five years of Tory rule will bring.

PS Boris is the proven liar, and the Conservatives are the party who has lied in 88% of their ads this election (as reported yesterday) compared with 0% of ads published by Labour. I know who I'd trust more to live up to their manifesto promises.

peaceanddove · 11/12/2019 21:59

I now have my suspicions that Labour actually gave everyone a free unicorn the last time they were in government, hence there was 'nothing left' in the national coffers. I expect I didn't receive mine due to my allergy to horses.

user1471510720 · 11/12/2019 21:59

Why insult, just listen to @ knowbetter above.

He/she clearly thinks that are Country is poverty stricken and not even registered how ludicrous this is.

Has he/she seen true poverty in Africa, of course not, and so I don’t mind insulting idiots.
