Corbyn crushing capitalism WTAF

I am a labour supporter, I am even a labour member but I woke up with a pit of dread in my stomach about tomorrow.

It is not the massive nationalisation programme labour have pledged, nor the spending and wasting of trillions of pounds that keeps me awake, it is not even the idea of having Corbyn as PM as weak and as inept as he is.

It is having Momentum in charge of our country (with Corbyn held as a fig leaf so to speak) and their plans to crush capitalism that bothers me the most.

You can't simply crush capitalism, it is the financial world order that we are all part of, not just this country but most of the countries in the world. The idea that we can simply skip back to the 70s socialism in today's global world is ridiculous.
Labour will take over our companies by force, forced closure of private schools, taking over perceived empty homes after six months regardless of circumstances. This is the plan for an authoritarian state forcing a very hard left agenda, not a democratic civilised western country.

Do we suppose people will just stand idly by and let their schools be closed, their homes taken away, and see the deficit spiral out of control? Do we suppose companies being whacked with massive tax hikes and draconian state intervention will just stay in the UK?

No, it will cause a level of crisis and chaos we have never seen before as the labour government try to over throw capitalism and instal their new agenda, and all of this on the backdrop of the hate and division that will be caused by called another brexit referendum! It really does not bear thinking about.

I voted remain, but I honestly hate to think what a second referendum will do to the fabric of our country. It was bad enough the first time around.

I am genuinely feeling sick at the prospect of tomorrow. It is going to be the day of reckoning one way or another.

It's getting ridiculous that every time someone posts something anti-Corbyn, they're accused of being a Torybot.

The thing is, I'm not a fan of Corbyn and I am now a floating voter after having always voted Labour. No body had accused me of being a bit because I can make a coherent argument for my concerns without making up complete bullshit the day before an election.

Clearly the op is a Tory and is posting in bad faith.

Baguetteaboutit · 11/12/2019 07:35

Bit= bot

Considermesometimes · 11/12/2019 07:35

f it did Britain as we know it would collapse. Can you imagine that Parliament (even a labour majority one) is stupid enough to chase out all of the wealthy, skilled and, educated?

Yes Britain could collapse.

I agree, and that is why I am genuinely afraid of what tomorrow will bring. I have children, I have a life, and I am scared the country will go to the wall tomorrow.

I am one of millions of moderate labour voters that feel this way I suspect. We are in a terrible wretched position.

OP posts:
DowntownAbby · 11/12/2019 07:35

Relax, OP.

Corbyn has as much chance of becoming PM as you do.

Medievalist · 11/12/2019 07:37

It is terrible to be a labour supporter, and feel at the same time I simply can not vote for them tomorrow.

Same here. I left the Labour Party a year ago because of JC.

HRH2020 · 11/12/2019 07:37

In your last post, you don't sound like a labour supporter at all. Strange

Considermesometimes · 11/12/2019 07:37

Clearly there are many people on here that would rather label me a tory than actually talk about what I am worried about, and you are not exactly filling me with reassurance.

You are simply saying that Corbyn won't be able to be as radical because he won't have the numbers, well thats not exactly reassuring! Maybe he will have the numbers or be part of a pact that will happily sign up to all of it! We are all totally screwed even if he fulfils a quarter of his pledges.

Wow, adding in some sweeping (and incorrect) generalisations about the SNP too now. Just because a country feels the need to rescue themselves from an appalling mess does not mean it is (or the SNP are) Anti-English. They are probably the most inclusive party towards all nationalities.

Guavaf1sh · 11/12/2019 07:38

JC is moral and decent compared to BoJo - well most anyone is really

missfliss · 11/12/2019 07:38

@Baguetteaboutit totally agree.

Everything about this is articulated like a daily mail story.

No floating voter would ever write something like this.

There are plenty of genuine Labour voters who can articulate what issues they may or may not have with the leader of their party - this so isn't.

OrangeCinnamon · 11/12/2019 07:38

Oh and nice attempt to paint Labour with the communist brush there...by comparing them to China.

Anyone would think free access to information was a bad thing. Controlling a petcentage of broadband does not equal controlling what information the state gets. It is not 70s style nationalisation but a different way of working with businesses and controlling shares etc

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 11/12/2019 07:38

Why do all these post start with “Iv supported Labour all my life” or “I always vote labour” then a huge but with terrified blah blah.

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 11/12/2019 07:40

What I don’t get is how Labour think they’ll achieve all this when they’re going to be minus a HUGE chunk of the wealthy top 5% of tax payers.

They’ll be off and out of this country as fast as they can make it if Corbyn gets in.

Considermesometimes · 11/12/2019 07:40

med Thanks med, it is like we are not allowed to voice our thoughts. I feel like I am being silenced, and yet I know I speak for everyone around me. My lovely dad is 76 and has always voted labour, and he is not voting at all tomorrow and won't even talk about it. When you have lost people like my dad, then you know the party is in real trouble.

OP posts:
missfliss · 11/12/2019 07:41

It's not our job to 'fill you with reassurance'

OrangeCinnamon · 11/12/2019 07:42

@ChardonnaysDistantCousin you are conflating existing communist parties with socialism

Considermesometimes · 11/12/2019 07:42

I am not a floating voter, actually. I am a labour voter but I don't know what to do tomorrow. I don't think bring myself to vote for Corbyn and by extension Momentum.

OP posts:
Considermesometimes · 11/12/2019 07:45

Most people deep down must be worried about tomorrow. It can't be lost on anyone how important tomorrow is going to be to our future, to our kids future. I don't care that some posts call me a tory, I know I am not. I am worried that so many seem to think 'it will never happen' when they think of his manifesto, and I beg to differ, it will be just the start of things to come.

OP posts:
fedup21 · 11/12/2019 07:45

OP-can you tell us what policies you have liked about the Labour Party for the last 30 years?

maddening · 11/12/2019 07:46

Tbh I don't think anything excessive would get voted through parliament, we have sufficient constitution to ensure sanity imo

thefluffysideofgrey · 11/12/2019 07:46

Why the hell are you in this party? You don't actually agree with anything we stand for.

You're a Tory plant.

You wouldn't know where to hang the red flag, never mind keep it flying!

I am a an actual member, btw.

Luckylassiam · 11/12/2019 07:47

This site is fucking pathetic when it comes to someone starting a thread against Labour. Labour are dangerous right now and you’ve all been brainwashed. Part of me wants Labour in government so I can say I told you so. I’ll be long gone. No way am
I living in this country under them. The thought scares me.
Oh, and I know plenty of Labour people not voting for them because of Corbyn. Open your fucking eyes

DonkeyHotty · 11/12/2019 07:49

A lovely. Another Tory bot. Good morning!

thefluffysideofgrey · 11/12/2019 07:52

A Labour Party member who thinks that nationalisation will bring about the downfall of the country...

Yes dear! Grin

BrexitMakeItStop · 11/12/2019 07:52

Well, this sounds like a poorly disguised 'Corbyn will take your house' paid post, but even if it had an element of truth, there is literally no way he will get a majority tomorrow. The media and newspapers have seen to that.

I am terrified about Johnson getting a majority. They will destroy this country with no deal and obliterate democracy at the same time. Have a look at page 48 of the manifesto. The NHS will be sold off in bits, our food standards will plummet. We will become Trump's bitch. The govt will be simultaneously the most right wing and least skilled ever.

But hey, he's a laugh, isn't he? That's all that matters. Probably won't affect you unless you get ill, eat food or buy things in the shops.
