Can anyone decipher this handwriting for me?

We moved house just under a year ago. We are on nodding terms with the next door neighbours, but have never exchanged names. Now they've sent us a Christmas card with the names on, which should be great, as I won't have to ask them, except I can't read the handwriting! Any ideas? I've cut off the man's name as I can read that, and I can see the last one is Emily, but the other three are a mystery. If it helps, the children are girl, boy, girl.

Steve is the man's name. The OP posted it.

Bootstraps · 14/12/2019 00:43

@DebbieFiderer you can't just promise to come back if there's an answer, you have to hunt down an answer Wink

Put it this way, if she was ever to find this thread - and oh how I wish she was a Mumsnetter! - don't you think she'd say gfs why didn't you just knock on the door and ASK ME?

Rosspoldarkssaddle · 14/12/2019 00:50

Just put x and family

zurigirl · 14/12/2019 02:33

I read it as Drew, Annie, Liam and Emily

NachoFries · 14/12/2019 02:44

Draic, Amiee, Liam & Emily. I’m assuming that they are possibly French?

M4MMY · 14/12/2019 03:59

Neill, Aimee, Liam and Emily - I'm pretty certain.

NachoFries · 14/12/2019 04:34

Oops. Having seen the second pic. I think it’s Steve, _, Amiee, Liam & Emily

I think its Steve, Demi, Amiee, Liam and Emily. That isn't an R it's just the way she linked the D to the E

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 14/12/2019 17:35

I don’t think it’s Demi because of the way the m’s look in Liam and Aimee...they don’t match. I’m not buying Diane either because I can’t see an n!

Biscuitsandteaplease · 14/12/2019 19:33

The spelling of Aimee is definitely French - Amiee

I think it's going to be a name we don't recognise much here! Definitely looks like Drail but I don't think it could be that could it?

Gah it's driving me mad Confusedyou have to tell us if you ever find out OP!

Biscuitsandteaplease · 14/12/2019 19:34

Also it definitely ends in 'il' - you can see if you compare it to the letters in Liam

Andysbestadventure · 14/12/2019 19:43

Second name is Dave!!! They've accidentally dotted it mid rush.

Andysbestadventure · 14/12/2019 19:44

Or Becci

amaryl · 14/12/2019 19:55

Dani, it’s Dani

mathanxiety · 14/12/2019 20:07

Maybe Dina, looking at it again? There is definitely a dot for an i and the letter after the D looks like the i after the A of Aimee..

sawyersfishbiscuits · 14/12/2019 22:51

I was convinced it was Drew until I found out it was the Mum...

Becci maybe?

Can you send out your kids to make friends with their kids and ask their Mum's name?! 😁

RuthW · 14/12/2019 23:01

Beccy, Aimee, Liam snd Emily.

PurpleFlower1983 · 14/12/2019 23:09

I think it’s Becci and she’s written it in a rush. Looks like a left hander too.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 15/12/2019 00:02

The spelling of Aimee is definitely French - Amiee

No, @Biscuitsandteaplease, Aimee IS the French spelling. It means “loved”, it’s the past participle of the verb “aimer”. Strictly speaking there should be an acute accent on the first “e”. Amiee would just be wrong. However Diane/Dani has a habit of dotting the letter i far away from the bottom of the letter so it’s perfectly feasible that the i appears in the name Aimee exactly where it should be.

Stravapalava · 15/12/2019 00:07

I can't believe you've still not figured it out! I like the Dani / Dina suggestion.

Give me their address OP, I'll go and knock on their door and ask them!

Indie139 · 15/12/2019 22:26

Best bet would be diane

AnotherShirtRuined · 15/12/2019 23:51

Dreeic, Amiee, Ulim & fruity Confused

soupforbrains · 15/12/2019 23:56

Argh! OP this is infuriating!!

@DebbieFiderer you must come back and give us some sort of update?

Is her name Diane? Or Drecci? It did you opt for something ambiguous??

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 15/12/2019 23:59

Drew?!

This has happened to me and I wrote “to you all” the next year in the hope I would get a clearer card back!

soupforbrains · 16/12/2019 00:02

@DebbieFiderer do you have kids? If so do they ever play/cross paths with the neighbour kids?

If so enlist them into a asking about the mum's name.
