Can anyone decipher this handwriting for me?

We moved house just under a year ago. We are on nodding terms with the next door neighbours, but have never exchanged names. Now they've sent us a Christmas card with the names on, which should be great, as I won't have to ask them, except I can't read the handwriting! Any ideas? I've cut off the man's name as I can read that, and I can see the last one is Emily, but the other three are a mystery. If it helps, the children are girl, boy, girl.

Can anyone decipher this handwriting for me?

Next time you see her just brightly and breezily say "Thank you so much for the beautiful card, so kind of you to think of us, .."

move on to names...
what lovely names your children have - I've always liked the name Emily - my [cousin in america/ cat/ best friend] was called Emily...... a
nd then just ASK what the first name is and clarify which name belongs to which person and tell her about your family

though we'll hope you can work out which one is Liam

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 12/12/2019 07:16

It's 'Love, Neill, Aimee, Liam and Emily'. I'm less sure about Aimee, but pretty sure about the others.

You're pretty sure the wife is called Neill...? 🤔

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 12/12/2019 07:17

I don't know why everyone is abandoning Drew

Drew doesn't have an i in it and there is a clear dot for an i

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 12/12/2019 07:42

I don't think the op is coming back. We will never get the answer to this Sad

Powerbunting · 12/12/2019 07:49

Strangely I think this is easier to read as a thumb nail. When it is obviously Becci, Aimee, Liam and Emily. Open to get a bigger image and it is impossible again.

Not reading all 28 pages, but hope you've got it sorted

ShizeItsWeegie · 12/12/2019 08:11

Drew Aimie Liam Emily

iheartchristmas92 · 12/12/2019 08:16

@powerbunting that's a funny looking B if it's Becci?

KayFoxxy · 12/12/2019 08:49

Maybe Drew

Janl · 12/12/2019 08:49

I read it as Dreiu maybe like pronounced Drew as it’s a girls name - Aimee or Amiee it actually looks like and Liam - if not just say to all your lovely family!

portobella · 12/12/2019 09:25

Dreu? Aimee and Liam?

JaneyGotAGun · 12/12/2019 09:37

My sister’s writing is like this 😂 (but it’s not her)

The names are:
Diane
Aimee
Liam
Emily

Mylifesadrama · 12/12/2019 09:50

I think it’s becci Aimee and liam

Barney60 · 12/12/2019 10:20

I can deffo see Aimee and Liam, not sure on the other name, but why not just sign from your new neighbours.

bisopharm · 12/12/2019 10:25

Becci, Aimee, Liam & Emily

crispysausagerolls · 12/12/2019 11:12

Maybe the first name is Boswell 😁

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 12/12/2019 11:36

Diane is the best guess I think, if the kids are older than about 10 then it has the right generational feel to it too- and fits with Steve.

I love how OP started this thread because she was too embarrassed to ask the neighbours, and now there are about 1000 Mumsnetters (me included) waiting with baited breath for her to do exactly that!
OP, if it makes you feel any better, my next door neighbours two are both lovely to chat to and I don’t think any less of them even though: one consistently asked after my baby for about a year with “how is she doing?” even though every time I replied “he’s doing really well, thanks” and the other has got in her head that he is called Angus and greets him with a cheery “hello Angus!” every time she sees him. He’s got a Scottish name but it’s not Angus. He’ll tell her himself soon enough Grin. And to be fair I have never asked the names of her twin teenage daughters because she always just calls them “the girls”.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 12/12/2019 11:38

Should have said, I also think Diane because she doesn’t put the dots for her “i”s above where the letter is, and I can see a faint trace of pen that would form the loop of the e on the final letter of the name.

Feelingpants317 · 12/12/2019 13:47

Just put it to All at number ??from whatever house u r

user1471590586 · 12/12/2019 14:28

First name almost looks a bit like Heidi, but I can't make out the d.

JuneJuly · 12/12/2019 16:13

Although unlikely, the 'Steve' could, potentially, be the Mum; I know a female Steve.

JuneJuly · 12/12/2019 16:15

But, as others have said, there must be someone on your street you could ask about their names...if you don't want to ask the neighbours directly.

DesertOrchid558 · 12/12/2019 16:25

This thread is hilarious, I wish the neighbour was on here and would clarify the names :)

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 12/12/2019 16:36

Aardvark - do your neighbours spend a huge amount of time knitting and carry talking bags with them everywhere they go? Grin

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 12/12/2019 16:39

Although unlikely, the 'Steve' could, potentially, be the Mum; I know a female Steve.

Fleetwood Mac had a woman called Stevie and a man called Lindsey - you'd never have called it that way around if you just met them and knew both of their names in advance, but not whose was whose, would you?!

Also, the Bangles were very much an all-female group, but one of them was called Michael.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 12/12/2019 16:51

I like to think that there's a family in Poland or Czechia who have just had a British family move in next door and have received a Christmas card from them.

They're puzzling and scratching their heads because they can't decipher the scribble that doesn't discernibly look like any normal pronouncable names - purely going on the sloppy formation of the letters, it appears to say something ridiculous and highly improbable like 'Alan, Jane, Emma, Tim & Lily'. Maybe Aunt Drecci will be able to help - she's good at negotiating bad handwriting Grin
