Can anyone decipher this handwriting for me?

We moved house just under a year ago. We are on nodding terms with the next door neighbours, but have never exchanged names. Now they've sent us a Christmas card with the names on, which should be great, as I won't have to ask them, except I can't read the handwriting! Any ideas? I've cut off the man's name as I can read that, and I can see the last one is Emily, but the other three are a mystery. If it helps, the children are girl, boy, girl.

And so when people here in the USA decry the loss of teaching of cursive writing in favor of printing, I can show them this. Printing would be a vast improvement over this amalgam of cursive, printing, and hieroglyphs.

My guesses on first view:

Drecci, Anice, Wm, and Emily.

My suggestions is to just write back "Dear Neighbors" and then you don't have to guess.

Changed my mind, Aimée, is that a name?

5foot5 · 10/12/2019 17:26

Or you could just knock on the door with card in hand, smile and say something like "I know this is awfully silly since we have been here nearly a year but I never did catch your names and I can't make them out from the card." Then get them to print them out, have a good laugh about it (maybe ask them in for a drink over Christmas) and come straight back on to mumsnet to put us all out of our misery

Jumpi · 10/12/2019 18:08

I don’t think they deserve a card. It’s not writing, it’s a mess.

RowenaMud · 10/12/2019 18:11

it’s not writing, it’s a mess.

Steady on. Apart from the first name, it is very legible and fairly ordinary writing.

Tiredandgrumpytonight · 10/12/2019 18:14

It’s not Becci is it?

LaurieMarlow · 10/12/2019 18:15

Please come back OP. We need closure.

Or at the very least another screenshot Grin

Bootstraps · 10/12/2019 18:17

@LaurieMarlow first we need another screenshot to see if we can do this on our own, and then we need closure.

grandmasterstitch · 10/12/2019 18:23
