Can anyone decipher this handwriting for me?

We moved house just under a year ago. We are on nodding terms with the next door neighbours, but have never exchanged names. Now they've sent us a Christmas card with the names on, which should be great, as I won't have to ask them, except I can't read the handwriting! Any ideas? I've cut off the man's name as I can read that, and I can see the last one is Emily, but the other three are a mystery. If it helps, the children are girl, boy, girl.

I think the first name is reece

Wouldn't it be funny if the person who wrote the card was on mumsnet and she could tell us her name!!

I would just say i was so sorry but couldn’t work out all their names, then she will tell you, and you can tell all of us !

Are you going to the polling station on Thursday? You might be able to sneak a look at the list as they are scoring your name off

Its 100% Aimee. The dot above the e is an accent because its the French spelling - its how my name is spelt and for some reason people always spell it Amiee?! Can't help you on the first name though haha! I thought Reece but know you've said its the mums name. I think you'll just have to go for the option of 'To number x' or ask one of the other neighbours if they know?!

Except there is no i between the A and the m

The i is joint from the dash across the middle of the A ..that's how I read it anyway.

Ask another neighbour if they know her name as your suffering an 'amnesiac moment'. It happens.

That second name is Amiee.

If you take a close look, you can see the faint pen stroke between the first two uprights of the "m". It's similar to my own handwriting. But it's not me, I haven't written any cards yet 😁

I'm so invested in this.....I think the final 3 names have been said but the first one is a mystery....PLEASE come back and update us when you know the answer!!!

Does the card have anymore writing in so we can compare the letter formation?

I might send one like this to our new-ish neighbours to see if it ends up on here. I'll add the cats names too to really flummox them

It really is a very English problem isn't it!

This made me smile. How is that a quintessentially English problem? People have bad handwriting the world over, and most people have once (or repeatedly) forgotten people’s names before.

This exact same situation could happen pretty much anywhere in the world.

This just seems like a very odd form of cultural appropriation of a universal issue.

Failing Diane, it has to be Drizzle.

I think it's Ania not Aimee. The second a is formed in exactly the same way as the a in Liam.

How is anyone getting a T out of that first letter?
