Roses lime cordial !

For all the Roses lime cordial lovers that haven't been able to get hold of it for months Aldi's have started selling it again , I have seen it in two shops (friday and today )
I bought 3 bottles

I buy a few bottles at a time when I see it. Lovely with gin

I love it too! It's a very Christmassy nostalgic item for me, dh doesn't understand, but it's lovely with lemonade and takes me straight back to the Christmases of the 80s

I’ve not had any trouble getting it in our local Tesco .

Have you been able to buy it easily recently ? for the past 3 months or so its not been stocked in any of my local ( NW England ) supermarkets .
A corner shop cottoned on to this and sold the last of their stock off at £4.50 a bottle !
Aldi's are selling it for £1.95

Is it significantly better than supermarket own?

ha ha me too, my DM would put a few drops of Bitters in it too for me and DB as a treat but I love it with soda water now .

IMO absolutely, all the supermarket ones are to sweet and synthetic tasting to me .
Roses actually taste like lime ( shock horror ! ) so it has a much 'cleaner' taste

@chocolatespiders it is significantly better than any other brand. It has no artificial sweeteners and no awful aftertaste.

It brings on my asthma!

Oh, I love lime but not bothered which rand tbh, is roses better than the rest? Can't stand the sugar free stuff though.

Our Tesco North wales seems to have plenty but I had problems getting it this time last year.

I've never had any trouble getting it, it's always been available in Tesco. It's essential for making a Gimlet.

Its strange that it has been available in some places but not others. From what I can remember there was a fire at the factory but that was ages ago ( there was a thread on here referring to it but I can't find it now )

It has been harder to get, but not impossible. I'm in Scotland

It’s the only one which does not contain sweeteners so it is lovely.

There was a short term problem due to a fire earlier in the year but it’s been widely available again for months - except Tesco’s have stopped selling it. I buy a bottle every week - one of the few drinks with no artificial sweetners

We have never had any issues,DH buys two bottle a week to put into soda water .

Gimlet - two parts Plymouth gin (or one part Navy Strength), one part lime cordial/syrup, soda water if liked. Served absolutely ice cold with a twist of lime.

@MitziK thank you for the recipe unfortunately I do not like Gin ( ducks and hides to avoid the stares shot this way )

@Likethebattle , my local Tescos asda and morrisons have not sold it for ages , perhaps its just a lack of demand thing .

@mrsbyers I tend to shop at Tesco's more than anywhere else so that must be the issue .

I have just spoken to a friend who is delighted that it is available again as he likes it in coke ! Bloody odd imo

When you are having a lime and soda water, you want the right lime cordial! 😄

@MitziK oh this is not going well , I dont like vodka either ( considering hiding on the moon ) stout , mild and occasionally neat dark rum are my tipples .
I may try rum soda and lime for a longer drink . . . . . . . . . goes off to raid the drinks cupboard . . . . . .

I must admit I've grown to like the tesco no added sugar one (in the tall Rose's shaped bottle) and I normally hate stuff with sweeteners.

Yes I haven't been able to get Roses for about 4-5 months. And all the other brands are awful, hate to sweetener taste
