Primary schools - will I be the only one?

DC1 is due to start school next year.

Local primary doesn’t offer any wrap around care so we will need to enlist the help of a childminder. However, this means my contact with the school will be very minimal. I won’t be there for morning or end of day pick ups.

AIBU to be a bit worried about this? I’m concerned that I won’t be part of her life as much, that play dates won’t be arranged and I won’t know the other mums or be able to speak to her teacher.

I know lots of teachers these days who do part time, or have managed to sort out PPA to manage one drop off or pick up etc, is this do-able? Or can your child's father do one?

If not it's not worth stressing over. It will be worth it when everyone else is panicking over holiday care.

I’m in the same boat but between the whatsapp group and chatting to other parents at parties/school disco etc know quite a few people. As it turns out one of DS classmates lives a couple of doors down from us and they have become great friends so it’s worked out fine. Don’t stress about it, there will be others in the same boat.
