To ask how I can show my face on Monday

I went to a works Christmas do last night, drank too much and made a tit of myself.
I’m dreading going to work on Monday! AIBU to hand my notice in?! I can’t see another solution!! Help!

I have been to SOME work Christmas do's over the years where people have literally done the absolute worst .. but in the main got away with it. We've all been there if we're honest. I think you need to fess up on here ... otherwise minds are boggling and we can't give you a fair shout. Seriously ... it can't be THAT bad ... can it??

Obviously the whole crowd weren't in the toilets whilst you were puking. Just the fart to deal with.... you'll be fine 👍

As a PP said if anyone mentions the farting just blame it on too many sprouts.
Don't worry OP we've all had one too many drinks and I'm sure your colleagues will think no less of you for letting your hair down, relaxing and having a good time.

It's much better to see people having fun and enjoying themselves whether slightly tiddly or totally sober at a social event. There's nothing worse than everyone sitting there with sour faces and counting the minutes until they can leave.

I can remember being very young with my even younger colleague at a Christmas Party. She got so drunk, sat on a Directors knee and flashed her bra. He pushed her off and she didn't get kept on.

Last year I was sick all over the reception of the venue and basically had to get carried out to a car , we’ve all been there

I think it is likely most people were equally drunk and having the same worries.

Just brazen it out, the weekend will have dulled memories anyway.

I love a Christmas party!! Best one was the boss got himself absolutely shit faced and had to be get he'd by his wife as no taxi would take him. I was supposed to be sharing a taxi with him his wife kindly offered a lift and preceded to read him the riot act on the VERY long journey home. I was mortified for him but he just laughed it off. No harm no foul X

God all done it , probably all too drunk to notice anyway . Mine was this weekend too and one or two shall we say enjoyed themselves a little too much . I hope they don't feel embarrassed no big deal just laugh it off all forgotten about by now .

If anyone says anything about the farting just deny it outright 😬, I really can’t imagine it would Have been loud enough for others to hear at an Xmas do.
Laugh about the puking too, like god I’m such a lightweight these days, you can’t take me anywhere.

Two years ago I ended up stupidly drunk due to mixing my drinks and not eating. I ended up in the recovery position outside the pub after vomiting. They had to call my partner to come and get me.

Most embarrassing thing is, I am a substance misuse worker and work very closely with alcoholics and binge drinkers 😳😳😳

This thread has made me cry laughing!

I don’t drink much on night out anymore but during my early twenties I was knows as the messy one.

I once got so fucked during pre drinks for a work party that by the time we made it to the bar I was blind drunk. I tried to stand up at one point but fell straight back hitting my head on the table, legs akimbo flashing my underwear as well as my bra (the whole dress basically crumpled at my midriff Blush ) This was all in direct view of our very shy and conservative manager.

I had to be carried to the next bar and as soon as they left to stand by myself I fell over straight away smashing a few glasses on my way down. I proceeded to fall asleep during the speeches and had to be put in a taxi by half 10!

Next day at work was fine as I hadn’t even been the worst! One of our ex senior managers showed up and started a fight with his replacement, then tried to expose 2 of my female colleagues. This is still brought up now quite a few years later and we all still have a laugh about it.

Someone I knew once doused his nipples in Sambuca and set fire to them at a work do. Next morning, he only realised what he'd done when he saw the singed hair...

You will be fine, a bit of puking is tame.
This will probably out me, but my husbands company used to put on very posh Christmas parties for the directors and everyone used to bring their wives/husbands. They run smoothly for years, no bad behaviour and very civil/boring.
Until the year they brought out Aftershock.
Long story short, the wives (not me) all ended up fighting, everyone was calling each other cunts, and police were called, the whole place got shut down for the night and no taxis would take us. Then followed a very stern email from HQ saying how it was a disgrace and Christmas party’s were cancelled for the foreseeable. They haven’t had one since and it’s been years!

Lifes too short. My motto is try not to make a complete arse of yourself but if you do, feck it. Turn up, laugh it off and move on. There are worse problems in world. Happy ChristmasXmas Smile

Firstly, sick in toilet is not worth mentioning! Well done for getting to the toilet!
Secondly, farting whilst standing up probably happened due to the back part of your pelvic floor bring too weak after having your baby. I had this issue but did loads of work on it and I’m fine now!! Blame the baby and move on!!

We had a client so drunk at after work drinks that they fell down the internal staircase and broke their arm and dislocated their shoulder. (I’ve fallen down those stairs stone sober so I was surprised it hadn’t happened sooner)

My workplace had to do a course on responsible service of alcohol and had to hire a bartender to keep their workers compensation insurance.

If you simply got pissed and noisy etc then go in, keep your head down and put two fingers up to anyone mentioning it. But, if you screwed half the assembly, or even groped a few in these puritanical days, then you might have to think on your feet .... and claim you hadn't felt well and tablets and booze proved a bad mix.
Last thing you do is hand in your notice! In my book, don't do it!
