AIBU to be shit scared of BJ winning the next election?

Not sure how everyone else is doing, but I am just increasingly terrified about the idea that BJ and the likes of Jacob Rees-Morgan, Ian Duncan Smith (god they are just so disgusting Angry) are going to win this election. Got family in Australia and this morning it was raining ash and people literally can't breathe. The Tories are going to do nothing, zero, nada about climate change. And when I look at my kids I just don't know how we are going to survive another five years. and don't get my started about the state of the kid's school - the teachers are doing their best, but the reality is it's a shit show bc of how many cuts they have had. Friends are going canvassing for Labour and me and DH are doing our bit too - but it all just feels surreal - BJ talks shit, tells lies, and has reinvented himself as "new" when the fucker has been IN GOVT for years. Any got any ideas on how we can turn this around?

Terrified of JC getting into power, every time Labour have got into power they cripple the country financially. My family are mining background and absolutely hate Labour and the unions for all the backstabbing they committed.
I cannot trust JC, he is a wanna be communist, he cannot guarantee any deal with Europe whatsoever if he got into power, so basically he just will use that as an excuse to stay in, and probably thinks Europe will say 'oh yeah that's fine you can stay'...then comes the backlash of the bloody referendum in the form of a massive bill for us being an inconvenience to them.
I also can never forgive the Liberal Democrat's for what they did to the students!
I'm incredibly disgusted by Blair butting in after the atrocity he committed regarding Iraq.
The amount of money Labour plan to tax the minority wealthy is just an absolutely stupid idea, they claim Scandi countries have a good tax system...but all pay in to it very heavily. It's very obvious to someone on the street that everyone needs to be taxed alot more than is current in order for Labour to receive this endless spending pot they require.
I've shamefully voted Plaid Cymru at one point in my life, and wow do I now look back and think what a bunch of knobheads they were and still are.
Labour has decimated the NHS in Wales...our 'payoff' was free prescriptions...yet the worst health care system in Britain!
In my Father's constituency, an old mining community up in the valleys, he has the option of a corrupt Labour candidate or an inept Liberal, he has lost all hope.
I moved to England a few yrs ago and the NHS is bloody better here! I would have arguments with ppl trying to explain to them what BAD really was! People dying in corridors waiting for treatment in A&E, cancer treatment in Wales is atrocious, I've had severely relatives pass away with appalling care given. Here in England I got an hereditary cancer gene appointment/counseling/surgery/tests within a tiny time frame that left me gobsmacked. I also contracted sepsis and was treated with brilliant care here. Labour sold off the NHS in Wales that's for sure.

The fucking Tories are so sectarian right now that I look upon their bullshit gleeful outrage at Corbyn's AS like I look upon loyalist terrorists pointing their bloody fingers at a Sinn Fein! Oh wait....that's happening right?🤔😖

pilates · 06/12/2019 22:00

More worried about JC getting in

IdblowJonSnow · 06/12/2019 22:01

Yanbu! It's very scary, not least for climate change.
I'm afraid he is going to win, it's not an if. Would be delighted to be wrong on this.
Bad times.

I cannot abide Boris. I loathe him. His fake buffoonery, lies, lazy privilege, racism, misogyny...he has no principles except to self promote. He is a British Trump. He appeals to the worst of us. I hate him.
I will be the target of significant tax rises by Labour and I’ll happily pay (even) more tax if it means a fairer society. I’m already in the 50% or whatever it now is bracket. This country is more unequal now than i ever recall it being. I don’t rate Corbyn as a leader but as a human being with genuinely held principles he is in a different league to the shit stain is Boris.

Misseuropadiscodancer · 06/12/2019 22:08

It really annoys me when I see people saying 'calm down, a Labour government would be worse'. My Local Authority area has seen 40% cut to its central government funding compared to average 9% in southern local authorities because of i excesses austerity to prop up Tory ideology...and don't give me the Labour bankrupted the country bollocks because Labour were not responsible for the American sub prime mortgage market or the global crash. George Osbourne admitted they UK had the lowest debt in the G7 in 2010, rising to one of the highest by 2013 under a Tory government.

Austerity was Tory ideology, nothing more, and we in the north have paid for it 4x more than the swathes of Tory-voting south. Our children are going hungry, the rise in food banks is outrageous. The increase in street homelessness, schools are stretched to the limit and all for what? Tax havens in Panama for the richest rich.

There is no place for antisemitism in our society, as with any form or discrimination. But the Tories are not the choice to make. Who fights for places like ours in the North?

Sweetpea55 · 06/12/2019 22:09

Your terrified? Jesus. Get a grip
Doesn't matter if your worried about him getting in or not.. He still might and your worrying won't stop him

Misseuropadiscodancer · 06/12/2019 22:13

@sweetpea55 it must be nice to be in your position of privilege that you can mock people who are terrified of the consequences of 5 more years of a Tory government

seltaeb · 06/12/2019 22:15

Regrettably the polls suggest that the Tories are way ahead.

KeithPartridge · 06/12/2019 22:16

@pilates Why? Why are you more worried about Corbyn getting in than a man who will bring back the Troubles? Oh you think I'm joking? I work in the community sector in NI and have done for twenty years and I haven't seen as big a threat to peace as the Johnson-led Tory government.

Now you tell me....how is Corbyn a bigger threat?

suol · 06/12/2019 22:20

This is my #ToryStory. It has been scary as hell and sincerely hope that those of you who are scared of Corbyn don't get to experience this ever, and certainly not under a Tory government. For your sake and that of your kids be brave! Time for a change

AIBU to be shit scared of BJ winning the next election?
StarbucksSmarterSister · 06/12/2019 22:29

Brexit will do far worse and longer term damage than anything Corbyn can do.

^this

He'd be gone in 5 years if he was that bad and Labour wouldn't get another chance for decades. A No Deal Brexit (which I firmly believe is Johnson's intention) will cause devastation for 20 or 20 years

It seems so unbelievably short sighted to vote for Johnson.

CendrillonSings · 06/12/2019 22:30

Boris screwed over the DUP with his new deal, so he’s hardly their mate, is he? If people don’t want the DUP to have control of the government (and I certainly don’t), then they should vote Conservative so that Boris can govern with a majority and without them. Simple!

StarbucksSmarterSister · 06/12/2019 22:32

suol I'm so sorry you went through that, but glad you are on the road to recovery. Flowers

CendrillonSings · 06/12/2019 22:32

He'd be gone in 5 years if he was that bad

How long will it take Venezuela to recover from socialism? Once an economy has been destroyed by the far left, it doesn’t just magically bounce back.

GreenishMe · 06/12/2019 22:38

Now you tell me....how is Corbyn a bigger threat?

Instead of repeatedly demanding that other posters inform you of why Corbyn is seen as a bigger threat, why don't you do your own research?

You've even been supplied with a link which explains why so many people have misgivings about the Labour party.

If you can't be arsed to find out for yourself who you're voting for, you really should stop yelling at the people who have bothered to and who have formed an alternative opinion to you.

And WTF will No Deal do?

John1971 · 06/12/2019 22:51

The polls I’m looking at suggest it’s getting closer all the time.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 22:56

Keith, I understand you are angry, you have every right given your past experiences, but do you need to personally attack people? This is politics and democracy, people choose different parties, there are different opinions, which we all might find near impossible to understand from all side of our various fences, but it’s not fair to attack individual people and their choices in such a nasty way.

Ask questions? Disagree? Explain your own experiences? Fine, but no need to get so personal. 🕊

CendrillonSings · 06/12/2019 22:56

you just admitted Johnson can't be trusted. For fucks sake, have some morality within you.

You hate the DUP and claimed Boris was their best friend. He clearly isn’t, because he gave them the shaft at the earliest opportunity.

So he was meant to be “moral” to the DUP? Why bother if they’re so immoral themselves?

CendrillonSings · 06/12/2019 22:57

The polls I’m looking at suggest it’s getting closer all the time.

Polls of Momentum members? Wink

Snowjive2 · 06/12/2019 22:58

Plus the polls are a tiny sample. Don’t match what’s going on at street level. Courage!

GreenishMe · 06/12/2019 22:59

In other words Greenish ....you have no idea! 😭Fucking hell voters are dumb!

....listen to yourself. How can you call anyone dumb?
