AIBU to be shit scared of BJ winning the next election?

Not sure how everyone else is doing, but I am just increasingly terrified about the idea that BJ and the likes of Jacob Rees-Morgan, Ian Duncan Smith (god they are just so disgusting Angry) are going to win this election. Got family in Australia and this morning it was raining ash and people literally can't breathe. The Tories are going to do nothing, zero, nada about climate change. And when I look at my kids I just don't know how we are going to survive another five years. and don't get my started about the state of the kid's school - the teachers are doing their best, but the reality is it's a shit show bc of how many cuts they have had. Friends are going canvassing for Labour and me and DH are doing our bit too - but it all just feels surreal - BJ talks shit, tells lies, and has reinvented himself as "new" when the fucker has been IN GOVT for years. Any got any ideas on how we can turn this around?

More dangerous than continuing with an economy where there are ever more calls for volunteers to man essential services, including even the guards at the border?

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:07

“So you lot would condemn people to homeless shelters, food banks and the fucking STREETS because you don't like one person?”

You will get all of this on steroids when the chancellor achieves his goal of ‘collapsing capitalism’ (re; the economy.).

And no, I will not take your hyperbolic nonsense guilt trip. These people you think are amaaaazing, have actively celebrated men who murdered innocent civilians in cold politically motivated blood. You don’t get to pull the righteous card on this one.

KeithPartridge · 06/12/2019 20:08

Funny how the gutless Tory voters have suddenly gone silent. Bullshitters.just like their revered joke of a leader.

SexlessBoulderBelly · 06/12/2019 20:08

I have nothing to contribute except: every time I scroll past this thread title I’m reading “AIBU: to be shut scared of Blow Job...” then I double take and read it properly.

Argh!

SexlessBoulderBelly · 06/12/2019 20:08

Shit *

ImGoingToBangYourHeadsTogether · 06/12/2019 20:08

The capitalist economy has already collapsed. Work no longer pays. And it collapsed under its own weight, not through any act of socialism. It collapsed slowly and steadily in time with the demise of more socialist attitudes. We need a rebalancing. We need something different.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:09

“We need a rebalancing. We need something different.”

Ussr? Venezuala? North korea? Which one takes your fancy?

Cookerybookaddict · 06/12/2019 20:09

John Mcdonnell scares me far more than Corbyn. I asked him this morning in the webchat whether he had budgeted for capital flight in his manifesto and how he was planning on funding the NHS once all those evil bankers had relocated to Frankfurt and Singapore. Funnily enough mine wasn't one of the questions he chose to answer!

GreenishMe · 06/12/2019 20:10

Instead of keep asking us why he's more dangerous, why don't you do some proper research yourselves......you're the ones voting for him, not us

KeithPartridge · 06/12/2019 20:10

Epic...so have the Tory party! The UVF killed my boyfriend...the party YOU are voting for got into bed with their political wing. Your hypocrisy is something else. Don't you dare presume to preach to people.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:11

“Epic...so have the Tory party! The UVF killed my boyfriend...”

This is horrific. And I am so sorry this happened to you.

ImGoingToBangYourHeadsTogether · 06/12/2019 20:12

Don't bother EpicShit. There's a world of difference between what Corbyn is proposing and North Korea etc. Much of what he is proposing is already in practice in Europe, and as has been said, is in line with current economic thinking.

Johnson's and his cronies' manipulation of the news, information and media however... that has a remarkable similarity to North Korea et al. It's often been remarked how extremes of left and right come to resemble each other.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:12

“Don't you dare presume to preach to people.”

I am entitled to my views. As you are yours. I’m sorry for your loss.

Solihooley · 06/12/2019 20:13

If this country lets that man have a majority I will despair. I feel I just don’t know my own country anymore, all the values I thought we had he and his bunch of Russian controlled cronies shit on day after day. Cameron and May look like saints to me now compared to him (I didn’t think that when they were in office, but I’d have them back in a heartbeat). How much lower can the conservatives sink?

KeithPartridge · 06/12/2019 20:15

Epic, if you were sorry, you would change things. Anyway, I'm out. This is all too painful.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:15

“Don't bother EpicShit. There's a world of difference between what Corbyn is proposing and North Korea etc.”

These things never start in a vacuum. If they revealed the true aim, no one would vote for them, first you use democracy to gain power, then you erode it. Classic totalitarianism. Ask yourself, why free state run broadband for ALL and not just for the poor? Would have been a sensible and exciting policy right?

Unless it’s an avenue to control the content of course.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:16

“Epic, if you were sorry, you would change things.”

Again. I am very very sorry for your sad loss. But I will not vote for terrorist sympathisers.

ImGoingToBangYourHeadsTogether · 06/12/2019 20:20

Free state run broadband is an extraordinarily sound policy that recognises the need to update to modern communications infrastructure and make essential infrastructure accessible for all.

It's about providing the infrastructure. It's not about controlling the content. Unlike the current attempts to do so stemming from private corporations and occasional government interference. You should go read what Tim Berners-Lee thinks of who is controlling the web now. Try this for a starter. www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/nov/15/tim-berners-lee-world-wide-web-net-neutrality

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:22

I posted this on another thread earlier. It’s a long but sobering read about Corbyn, Mcdonnell, the advisors and the road to socialism.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:22

“It's about providing the infrastructure. It's not about controlling the content.”

Who says? Corbyn? McDonnell? The honest players? Hmm

Solihooley · 06/12/2019 20:24

Well, maybe state run broadband might stop the Russians meddling in everyone of our elections and referendums? Let’s see the report Boris.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:24

This guy? Did he say it?

AIBU to be shit scared of BJ winning the next election?
ImGoingToBangYourHeadsTogether · 06/12/2019 20:25

It's odd how every slight leaning towards socialism is portrayed as immediate extreme left wing state control of individuals. Whereas what we are facing right now, in practice, is extreme control of individuals - all but slavery - by private companies, social classes and the priorities of pre-existing capital. It's been coming for a long time.

Somewhere in the middle is where I want to be. Look to see who is manipulating the data right now and spreading the most lies: they are the people who are running shit scared of their power and control being diminished.

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 06/12/2019 20:26

EpicShit
“These people you think are amaaaazing, have actively celebrated men who murdered innocent civilians in cold politically motivated blood. You don’t get to pull the righteous card on this one.”

The conservatives support the supply of arms and munitions to Saudi Arabia who bomb Yemeni civilians, and who find and supply weapons to terrorist regimes. After one Saudi bombing that was known to have killed civilians, Johnson agreed the sale of more weapons and munitions to them. Fine, upstanding politician? Hardly.

They’re not just actively celebrating murders and terrorists they’re actively funding them. So you don’t get to play the righteous card either.

Support who you want to support, but that terrorist argument is ridiculous.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 06/12/2019 20:26

“Let’s see the report Boris.”

Yes, and also please, reveal the source of the mysterious ‘russian’ reddit/sensitive government docs presented at the shitshow ‘press conferences’ by Jezbollah.
