AIBU to be shit scared of BJ winning the next election?

Not sure how everyone else is doing, but I am just increasingly terrified about the idea that BJ and the likes of Jacob Rees-Morgan, Ian Duncan Smith (god they are just so disgusting Angry) are going to win this election. Got family in Australia and this morning it was raining ash and people literally can't breathe. The Tories are going to do nothing, zero, nada about climate change. And when I look at my kids I just don't know how we are going to survive another five years. and don't get my started about the state of the kid's school - the teachers are doing their best, but the reality is it's a shit show bc of how many cuts they have had. Friends are going canvassing for Labour and me and DH are doing our bit too - but it all just feels surreal - BJ talks shit, tells lies, and has reinvented himself as "new" when the fucker has been IN GOVT for years. Any got any ideas on how we can turn this around?

Labour aren't even that crazy left-wing.

These are the economists and academics who have backed their spending plans.

The Overton Window has shifted sharply to the right, that's the only reason they seem extreme, their manifesto would read perfectly reasonably in Germany or Scandinavia.

Seriously, Johnson and his henchman are an utter shitshow. Really really bad, and it's now at the point where rags like the Mail are publishing blatent lies. Shame on anyone who falls for them.

MaxNormal · 06/12/2019 16:56

I think you have every reason to be terrified if Jeremy Corbyn wins!!

Why, what will happen? Fact, please.

Symptomless · 06/12/2019 17:01

Greenish, good on you for supporting Johnson.

John1971 · 06/12/2019 17:07

Still running scared Johnson? Just what we need - a liar and a coward running this country.

Alsohuman · 06/12/2019 17:07

Ffs @CendrillonSings, you’re like a stuck record. Both Blair and Major have appeared on the same platform with the message - vote tactically to keep the Tories out.

Nonnymum · 06/12/2019 17:11

Also if someone as moderate at John Major is saying vote tactically to stop Johnson getting a majority. That is worrying.

MrsDoylesTea · 06/12/2019 17:15

Partridge

Bit different - the DUP isn't the political wing of the UVF, whereas Sinn Fein was for the IRA. And don't give me that crap about he was trying to advance the peace process - he wasn't in government, wasn't doing it on behalf of the government. He was doing it because he sides with the enemies of the UK. Watch other countries stop cooperating with us on security if he became Prime Minister.

Oh - and "the island of Ireland" = easy to see where your sympathies lie....

Nonnymum · 06/12/2019 17:16

BJ's a pussycat compared to McDonnell & co.
What makes you think this? Johnson is much more dangerous, he's a liar and chat be trusted. He's also not prepared to be interviewed by Andrew Neil.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/12/2019 17:18

Once again can anyone tell me why, in nearly four decades in parliament, no Labour leader's even seen fit to give Corbyn a senior/cabinet post?

I've asked several times now and nobody's ever offered any suggestions ... perhaps this time will be different?

CendrillonSings · 06/12/2019 17:22

Both Blair and Major have appeared on the same platform with the message - vote tactically to keep the Tories out.

And neither wants the Labour Party in - the difference is that they recognise that Corbyn is such a loser that they don’t need to waste much time on him.

KeithPartridge · 06/12/2019 17:30

MrsDoyle, if you believe that I have swampland in Arizona to sell you. They hold secret meetings with the UVF so that these terrorists have been dictating policy affecting everyone in the UK. But no doubt mugs will vote for the DUP again...the ones who would rather NI faced economic ruin with their fucking sick support of leaving the EU and contempt for the Good Friday Agreement.

As I said before, roll on reunification. At least now we are looking at sooner rather than later. Who knew the DUP would be the ones to bring it about?😂😂😂

UtterlyPerfectCartoonGiraffe · 06/12/2019 17:30

I’m doing an actual LOL and almost a full blown ROFL at the Tory supporting posters saying “you’re being utterly hysterical about Boris Johnson OP. But if Jeremy Corbyn gets in the economy will crumble, the sky will fall in and each voter will explode in a massive ball of fire!!!”

Alsohuman · 06/12/2019 17:32

Total lack of logic there @CendrillonSings, keeping Johnson out of Downing Street by voting tactically can only result in putting Corbyn there. There isn’t an alternative. When Major and Heseltine says Johnson’s dangerous, it’s time to listen.

CendrillonSings · 06/12/2019 17:41

Blair and half a dozen former Labour MPs say that Corbyn’s dangerous, but you don’t seem to care about that.

Then why is Blair encouraging tactical voting to put him in Downing Street? It’s not that difficult to understand.

NameChangeNugget · 06/12/2019 17:51

I have more chance of getting a majority than JC.

As an ex-Labour member, I’m appalled at what a shit shower and how unelectable they’ve become.

stairway · 06/12/2019 17:52

Corbyn had apologised about the murial many times over. He didn’t look at it properly when he liked it on Facebook or whatever. As for talking to Hamas I can’t really see the problem, they were elected by the Palestinian people and have killed a lot less people than the Israeli government.

Happygirl79 · 06/12/2019 17:59

With this election its more like pinning the tail on the donkey blindfolded when voting They are all rubbish

CendrillonSings · 06/12/2019 17:59

Then why is Blair encouraging tactical voting to put him in Downing Street? It’s not that difficult to understand.

The Tories would have to lose net seats relative to 2017 to put Corbyn in power. The DUP won’t pass Boris’ deal, but they’ve confirmed they won’t install Corbyn.

The Tories need to be below 315 for Corbyn to have any chance of power, and that assumes Lib Dem support, which Jo Swinson has promised not to give.

No, Blair and Major just want Boris constrained by a hung parliament so he has to offer a second referendum to stay in power, perhaps with LD support.

GreenishMe · 06/12/2019 18:00

Nonnymum I don't dispute what you say....other than that he's more dangerous than Corbyn & his inner circle.

Perhaps you should dig a little deeper into who you're planning on voting for if you think Johnson's more dangerous?

I'm not saying this in a goady way....I just find it difficult to believe that any moderate people would be so blase about voting Labour if they truly knew their agenda.

I just pray that Corbyn will eventually be replaced by a more moderate
leader so that we can have our real Labour party back again.

Alsohuman · 06/12/2019 18:08

I prefer to believe what they say rather than what you think they want.

Great article describing the dangers of Johnson:

The ‘Boris being Boris’ shtick is a cover for racism and lies. But it’s wearing thin

After what happened to my friend yesterday and her husband ( he works) with their universal credit (no payment, as husbands paid went in a day early last month) to make matters even more difficult they also have disabled children. I could not bring myself to vote for the Conservative this time. I’m genuinely shock at their situation. I can not lie I am also very worried about the NHS (have a DC with a disability also). I do not like JC at all but to many children and vulnerable people living in absolute poverty.
