AIBU to think Melania Trump is quite impressive, in a way?

It can't be easy being married to a man like Donald Trump, and it can't be easy being in the public eye so much, but Melania Trump seems to take it all in her stride.
She is always immaculate in her appearance, and always looks so poised and calm, that I can't help being a bit impressed by the way she handles her role.

I realise she's probably had work done, and maybe she's a slave to botox, but I think she is quite striking and beautiful. Just one thing though - I wish she'd stop wearing the stupidly high heels - all her shoes seems to have 6inch heels and sometimes she looks a bit unsteady, especially when negotiating steps.

I'm not keen on her husband, but AIBU to think MT is doing a good job of being First Lady?

I have very little respect for her. She is pointless at best, enabling at worst.
However I found myself feeling for her the other day when she tweeted about the name of her son Barron being jokingly mentioned in the impeachment hearings.
She had a point, leave the boy out of it.
But then again, Cersei Lannister loves her children too...

I wish Macron had brought Brigitte to London with him. Now she really is fabulous.

I really disagree with this. She started a relationship with a pupil in her care. She was married, with children at the time iirc. He was 15, she was 39.
People have gone to prison and been put on registers for behaviour like this.
Fabulous isn't the word for her imo.

She is very pretty but I find there is something offputting about people who put so much effort and money into their looks. I feel it makes them look shallow and self important. I also think there is something distasteful about anyone in the public eye who spends such vast amounts of money on their clothes while also trying to promote themselves as charitable people. It’s the same with the UK royals.

Melinia does seem to keep quiet which is a good thing. She isn’t forcing anyone to listen to her views. I think that’s good. There are a lot of people in the public eye who should take a leaf out of her book. HuK royals again.... 😅)

Ugh, can you imagine being married to Trump. 🤮🤮🤮🤮. Who can guess what their relationship is like. I hope it wasn’t just the money she liked.

Melania always looked drugged of her tits to me - I guess that is how she survives. I don't admire her - she is beautiful, if you consider that an admirable trait.

I find her quite fascinating, neither in a good or bad way!

Not sure why Macron's wife and Hillary Clinton are being held out as better examples on here though when one started a relationship with a child and the other stood by a sleazy, possible rapist, in order to further her own ambitions.

I agree that she looks drugged up. It’s probably the only way she can get through spending time with him.

She was extremely beautiful when she was younger, she could have bagged herself a nice rich man and had a lovely quite life. Instead she married Trump, that was very stupid and she’s paying for it now.

There has been negative press coverage of Melania - her work/immigration status for instance at the time she met DT - so no, she's not had an easy time of it in the press. If your husband had an affair after the birth of your child would you like to see it all over the press and TV (Stormy Daniels)?

I don't think 'not putting weight on in your forties' is much to admire somebody for, especially when they have time, money and staff around them.
I think the fact you think she is impressive says something about your own standards OP, as you have alluded to.

I wouldn't say that Hillary Clinton has charisma - I find her pretty repugnant. I think it was a damning indictment of HC as a person, that the US public preferred Trump.

You think she's impressive because she's immaculate? Because that's how a woman's worth and role use measured? Start with a list of actual achievements and then we can assess if she's "impressive".

She's doing what she signed up for, right or wrong. No doubt she agreed to stay for a certain number of years or whatever, or divorce settlement increases by so much a year. Nothing impressive about it. Marriages like this, and there seem to be many, are prostitution by another name.
