Boyfriend is a pig?

ILikePaperHats · 29/11/2019 22:08

Was having a nice meal out at a local restaurant with the boyfriend (BF). I said it would be nice to go to his house for a change of scene (he always comes to mine because he house shares). I work from home and I have 2 kittens (who have diarrhoea today) ! so sometimes I need to get out of the house. He said he hadn't changed the sheets on his bed for 2 weeks. I said that's ok, we'll make the bed together. Then he says he's only got one duvet and one sheet because 'he's a man', so he can't change the bed. He's 35 not 25 fgs. I called him a filthy pig and he should be ashamed. I've got 2 kids, 2 indoor kittens and a house and I manage to be clean and have clean bedding. AIBU?

You are both abusive. Also, I’d consider leaving kittens with diarrhoea alone all night to shit all the house pretty bloody filthy.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 30/11/2019 13:09

I'm with PPs - kittens with diarrhoea can't be left all night, so the whole conversation is a non-starter.

Also, kittens with diarrhoea need to see a vet.

I have gone back to using a top sheet so you can change the duvet cover less as it never touches your skin.

I still have at loads of duvet covers but it really does save time, a bed change is just fitted sheet and top sheet then pop everything back on. It's the duvet that takes time and effort.

But op dump him. Does he have a gold plated penis? Otherwise what is the point of him. Like others have said get a sex toy.

SilverySurfer · 30/11/2019 13:11

Oh god, dump. I once went to a BF's house for the first time. As I was stripping off, he pulled back the bedcovers on a single bed to reveal yellowy-green nylon sheets which I doubt had ever seen the inside of a washing machine. I put my clothes back on twice as fast as I took them off and left. Boak.

flirtygirl · 30/11/2019 13:14

thebluearsefly Why is the op abusive? Being called a pig is far different than being called a dog....

Also a one off loss of temper or bad words is different to being abusive. I've seen abuse and I hate people saying things like this are abusive, really calling a filthy pig, a filthy pig is abusive??

Getitwright · 30/11/2019 13:15

Some folks are so bad at life choices. I am shuddering at this one. I can cope with shitty kittens, but being in a relationship with an amoeba isn’t going to end well.......

thebluearsefly · 30/11/2019 13:17

Flirtygirl- are you kidding me? What If a man called me a filthy pig because I only had one set of bed linen and I came on here for advice? You’d tell me this isn’t abusive? It’s not normal to call each other names you know. I don’t know what your boundaries are but they might need looking at. Also “filthy pig” is incredibly degrading.

StarClaws · 30/11/2019 13:34

I only have 1 bed but have at least 7 Duvet covers and bottom sheets

But... why??

flirtygirl · 30/11/2019 15:13

I would say filthy pig was rude but maybe the point needed making. I would not say that it was abusive unless it was a pattern of name calling.

MashedSpud · 30/11/2019 15:23

We have one bed and have about four quilt covers and several sheets.

Dump the guy, you don’t need someone who is going to move in with you and have no clue how to look after himself.

Take the kittens to the vets.

QueenArseClangers · 30/11/2019 16:50

To those who have only one set of linen: what happens if someone was sick, a kid came into bed and weed, period leak etc?
DH changes our bed about every week. We have different superking sized duvets (our bed fits 6 pillows) and bottom fitted sheets and flat sheets.

I guess that could be a problem but I have 2 kids and none of those things has ever happened to me, so I don't really see a need to plan for it.

If it was sick or pee you'd have to sleep elsewhere for the rest of the night anyway, surely? Cos the mattress would be wet.

Selfsettling3 · 30/11/2019 16:56

Who is looking after the poorly kittens?

TheWernethWife · 01/12/2019 11:24

Star in various colours and patterns, it changes the look of the bedroom and because I like them. Why does it bother you so much.
