To ask if anyone is voting for the GREEN PARTY, in the upcoming General Election?

MistyCloud · 29/11/2019 20:47

Just that really.........

I see some posters say they are voting Conservative, some saying they are voting Labour, and some saying none of those two, (and will probably vote Lib-Dem rather than for Conservative or Labour.)

But I have seen no-one yet saying they are voting Green. (Maybe someone has, but I just haven't seen it.) Blush

Is anyone going to be voting for the Green Party? Vote YANBU for YES and YABU for No.

Thanks for taking part Smile

My current Tory MP is an absolute nob. I just read everything he did and didn't vote for or support (on the voting record - theyworkforyou.com ) and he is clearly very anti gay, pro hunting, pro HS2 and, anti-abortion. And he voted for the bedroom tax, for people on ESA in the work-related activity group to receive less money, (to increase their chances of finding work!) and the list goes on.

I rest my case. Tories hate the poor and vulnerable!

Hell will freeze over before I vote for that numpty!

No, because I am not a non-man.

KeithPartridge · 29/11/2019 21:42

The second they referred to women as non-men, they were dead to me.

InfiniteSheldon · 29/11/2019 21:46

I used to vote Green then they got in in Brighton and it was disastrous , then they allowed Aimie Challoner in then they used the phrase non women. So no, no I won't consider it ever again.

InfiniteSheldon · 29/11/2019 21:49

Sorry non-men bloody spellcheck

Galvantula · 29/11/2019 21:50

We don't have a green candidate, but I'd not vote for them anyway.

They've no idea what a woman is...

Sexnotgender · 29/11/2019 21:52

God no. Men and non-menHmm

MRex · 29/11/2019 21:54

We got a leaflet through! Which is particularly weird, because we don't even have a green candidate in this area. I'd love to support an environmental party, but unfortunately that isn't what.the current Green party aim to be, it's a shame their policies consistently make them unelectable. I do look forward to supporting a grown-up environmental party one day, but it won't be this lot.

ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen · 29/11/2019 21:55

@70sWitch Same. Aimee Challenor debacle and the lack of responsibility the Greens accepted for it = hard no.

Sirzy · 29/11/2019 21:55

Any possible temptation to vote for them was lost today when they sent someone to be interviewed on local TV who knew nothing about the area at all, if they can’t do their research before an interview then they aren’t getting my vote!

Peggyflo · 29/11/2019 21:56

Green would absolutely be my first choice. However the race is between 2 parties in my area so i will be tactical voting this time around.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/11/2019 21:56

Nope. He stood down because of the remain alliance.

Peggyflo · 29/11/2019 21:57

Also, never heard of the non men comment until i read this post. What?!

Stompythedinosaur · 29/11/2019 21:58

I'm a Green supporter, but I'm afraid I'm voting Labour as they are so much better than the Tories and no chance the Greens will win in out area.

LaPufalina · 29/11/2019 22:03

No, I have done in the past but I can't get past the non-men thing Sad

Kanga83 · 29/11/2019 22:03

Yes, I'm voting Green and am a Green Party member. I used to be a Liberal Democrat many moons ago, but green for the last two GE's. I'm going door to door this week.

MistyCloud · 29/11/2019 22:52

Thanks so much folks, for voting and commenting. Smile

Around one third of people (so far) are going to vote for them according to this poll. (So, like 30 out of 90.)

Interesting. That is more than I was expecting! Smile

Cultoffortnite · 29/11/2019 22:53

Yes and she will win her seat again.

Cultoffortnite · 29/11/2019 22:55

But in areas where it’s close between labour and Tories voting for green would most likely take away from the Labour vote. So if you do t want the tories to win again be carefully... if you’re a Tory, fill your boots!

MistyCloud · 29/11/2019 22:57

But would voting for Green not also be taking it away from a TORY vote @Cultoffortnite

OP posts:
Kanga83 · 29/11/2019 23:00

@Cultoffortnite that's the position where I am. It's a Tory stronghold, with labour doing everything they can for votes, but there's not a chance in hell that I will vote for Labour with Comrade Corbyn at the helm.

Cultoffortnite · 29/11/2019 23:08

Kanga83

Then enjoy the next few years with the Tories...

Cultoffortnite · 29/11/2019 23:09

MistyCloud - I’m too tired to explain tactical voting to you. Google it!

fairfat40 · 29/11/2019 23:22

Used to vote labour orGreen. But the whole Aimee/ woman hating thing .... nah.

Camomila · 29/11/2019 23:53

I don't know who Amy Challoner is but IMO Caroline Lucas is a brilliant constituency MP.

DH will be voting for her (I'm not a British citizen or I would too)
