To ask if anyone is voting for the GREEN PARTY, in the upcoming General Election?

MistyCloud · 29/11/2019 20:47

Just that really.........

I see some posters say they are voting Conservative, some saying they are voting Labour, and some saying none of those two, (and will probably vote Lib-Dem rather than for Conservative or Labour.)

But I have seen no-one yet saying they are voting Green. (Maybe someone has, but I just haven't seen it.) Blush

Is anyone going to be voting for the Green Party? Vote YANBU for YES and YABU for No.

Thanks for taking part Smile

Yes as we have no Lib Dem candidate here.

skankingpiglet · 29/11/2019 21:16

If we had a system of proportional representation, I would. Unfortunately we don't, so Labour will be getting my tactical vote. Labour are also highly unlikely to beat the Tories here as it's a very safe seat, but they are the best hope.

MissMarpletheMurderer · 29/11/2019 21:16

No, non-men amongst other things did it for me.

MistyCloud · 29/11/2019 21:20

@Sparklingbrook

I took one of those ‘who should I vote for?’ quizzes and I came out as Green Party.

I did this too. isidewith.com I think it was. And Green Party came up top for me too.

Came up with me agreeing with 75% of their policies!

@Topseyt

I'm toying with the idea of voting Green, as this time they are fielding a candidate in our constituency. They didn't in 2017, leaving only the choice of Conservative, LibDem, Labour or UKIP, which was rather underwhelming.

I am toying with voting for The Greens too. I do think some of their policies are pretty OK, and I like Caroline Lucas AND Sian Berry. Apart from The Greens, we only have Conservative, Labour, or Lib Dems in my constituency, and I don't want to vote for any of those last 3 really.

Conservative... not for me, no. IMO, they just hate the poor. And Boris is a clown and a bigot who was ready to sell us down the river with a shit Brexit deal.

Labour.. I would if Corbyn wasn't the leader. Not keen on him, and find him quite disingenuous. Always been anti-EU for his entire political career, and now suddenly claims to be pro-EU, and is supporting 'Remain.' I just don't trust him.

Lib Dems... Too disingenuous. Don't trust them to not go into coalition with anyone just to be in power, and I can't warm to Jo Swinson at all.

I predict Conservatives will win, with quite a decent majority, and the young will blame the 'old' again...... Sad But if Conservatives DO win, the young should really be directing their ire at Corbyn. If he wasn't Labour leader, Labour would win for sure I reckon.

I wonder if Corbyn will give up being leader of the Labour party if they get thrashed?

I bloody hope so!!! So I can start voting for Labour again! Wink

No. Women hating not cool

ThinkingNotTalking · 29/11/2019 21:21

I am. I’m lucky to have the amazing Caroline Lucas in a safe seat.

whiteroseredrose · 29/11/2019 21:24

Me! I often vote Green. I won't join them because of their stance on self ID but I agree with more of their policies than any other party.

curlykaren · 29/11/2019 21:26

@MistyCloud Jeremy Corbyn is not now supporting remain!? Where did you get that from?

HavelockVetinari · 29/11/2019 21:27

If it hadn't been for the Aimee Challenor scandal I would have definitely voted Green, I really approve of most of their policies. However, safeguarding is so much more important than anything else, I have a DC as well as nieces/nephews.

MistyCloud · 29/11/2019 21:27

I forgot to mention, I live in an area with a VERY safe Conservative seat, so I doubt my vote will make any difference. (Even if I do vote Green.)

My MP got around three quarters of the bloody votes in the last election!

Still, if everyone thought 'why bother because the current party has a fairly safe seat,' nothing would ever change would it?! Grin

I always vote green in the EP elections but it looks like I won't be burdened with that democratic privilege for much longer.

BlackForestCake · 29/11/2019 21:29

Have voted Green in the past but wouldn't touch them now it's becoming clear how misogynist they are.

cormorantyes · 29/11/2019 21:30

I will, for only one reason and that is the climate is so clearly the most important issue facing us and they have the most radical policies in this respect (don't really like most of their other stances- especially AC -but will overlook that)

justgivemewine · 29/11/2019 21:32

Voted green in the European election but will be. Outing Lib Dem this time as they are the only ones with any chance of getting rid of the tories. Still won’t happen though sadly.

justgivemewine · 29/11/2019 21:33

Voting not outing 🙄

Indecisivelurcher · 29/11/2019 21:33

Absolutely I am.

fligglepige · 29/11/2019 21:34

No, they haven't a chance of ousting the Tories which is objective number 1 for many of us.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 29/11/2019 21:36

I'd like to but they have no chance where I live.

Labour is the next best for the environmental

firstimemamma · 29/11/2019 21:37

I vote green because I worry about the environment especially as a mum (even though I know they'll never win and the uk is a drop in the ocean compared to bigger, worse countries Sad)

VanyaHargreeves · 29/11/2019 21:38

I got Green in the Who Should You quiz but I can't vote for them due to reasons mentioned above. Voting Labour as best worst, all options are frankly shit however.

IfIShouldFallFromGraceWithGod · 29/11/2019 21:39

Aimee Challenor
Non men
Safeguarding
How can anyone vote for themConfused

Justanotherlurker · 29/11/2019 21:39

Voting green and pretending you are concerned for the environment is almost as funny as voting for green is a waste of paper.

Their stance on nuclear power for instance is not based on any kind of science, then we get into the murky waters of wanting to keep and in some cases expand the green belt and openly support open immigration shows they are just using simple populists solutions for the simple people who think there is a simple solution.

The Green vote is an old school virtue signal for those lacking any kind of critical thinking and just kind of hoping labour get elected.

slipperywhensparticus · 29/11/2019 21:40

No they hate women

RuffleCrow · 29/11/2019 21:41

Ok I'll vote for them if they can give me a non-cyclical answer to this question:

What is a woman?
