Suspicious apps, Help!!

AF123 · 29/11/2019 11:55

I have my partners old iPhone, I've had it for about a year or so.
I was updating some apps and came across 'purchases' which I've never seen before so was just scrolling through.
These apps were on there right at the bottom, I've never downloaded them.

There's no other explanation right?

What iOS is the phone on? It's strange that they don't have dates - all of my purchased apps have a date of last download on - ranging from today all the way back to 2011.

But yes, they've been purchased/downloaded at some point. It could be at any point that he's had an Apple account, not necessarily on that phone, so you really need the dates.

AF123 · 29/11/2019 12:03

How do I check the dates??

OP posts:
RogueV · 29/11/2019 12:04

Yes they have been purchased/previously downloaded:

There is a way to check dates. I’ll try and find out for you

AF123 · 29/11/2019 12:08

Actually when I click the tab 'not on this iPhone' it's under there, what does that mean?

OP posts:
RogueV · 29/11/2019 12:08

Click on the App Store and my purchases.

The thing is it’ll probably go on your account unless you know his Apple ID.

It could be on a previous phone/iPad etc.

I have purchases from years and years ago on mine

RogueV · 29/11/2019 12:10

(My oldest purchase was 2008).
So your partner could have downloaded these prior to you getting together?

AF123 · 29/11/2019 12:10

Or it could have been linked to his Apple ID?

OP posts:
AF123 · 29/11/2019 12:11

We've been together almost 10years, would be handy if I could see the dates, but I can't Sad

OP posts:
Ponoka7 · 29/11/2019 12:11

It means they were downloaded on a previous phone/Ipad.

How long have you been together? As said they can go back ten years+.

RogueV · 29/11/2019 12:12

I can see dates below the purchases app what phone have you got OP?

Ponoka7 · 29/11/2019 12:13

It can be linked to his Apple I.D.

Perhaps he didn't delete them when you first go together because it didn't occur to him, because he wasn't active on them.

I know that these downloads stay with your account rather than the phone. How long do you reckon he's had an apple account for? If they're at the bottom, that means they haven't been downloaded/updated for a good while

AF123 · 29/11/2019 12:17

This was the 1st Iphone he had and he upgraded to a new one so I got this one.

There's also the Grindr app on there too.

Still can't see any dates

crustycrab · 29/11/2019 12:20

When did he get his first smart phone or iPad? It was less than 10 years ago for me

BreakfastAtLitanies · 29/11/2019 12:21

Some of those apps weren't out 10 years ago.

I'm so sorry OP Thanks

crustycrab · 29/11/2019 12:25

I went into App Store, clicked on the little man icon for my account, then clicked purchased and it comes up with dates

poorstudent1010 · 29/11/2019 12:26

Grindr 😂😂😂😂

You probably need to update your phone if you can’t see the dates

nononever · 29/11/2019 12:26

Quick google shows the Badoo App was released in 2012.

AF123 · 29/11/2019 12:28

Yep Grindr was on there too.

So his Apple ID is signed into our sons ipad, I've just been through there and none of those apps are on. It's showing me his history upto 2015 on the iPad. There is tinder showing up through app history on the iPad

crustycrab · 29/11/2019 12:29

The current version of POF is 11.90 so if that phone has version 11.0 then it's likely recent.

And yes, the Grindr is a worry too. Get yourself an std check OP and I think with some digging you'll likely find a lot more on there

poorstudent1010 · 29/11/2019 12:29

You have an outdated iOS version OP, I can tell by your screenshot. You have to update your phone.

Look, if you’ve been together 10 years then he’s obviously downloaded them whilst you were together as some of those apps weren’t in existence 10+ years ago.

It might not mean anything though. If he’s straight and downloaded Grindr it may have just been out of curiosity and nothing actually happened

crustycrab · 29/11/2019 12:30

That's a hell of a lot of dating downloads to ease curiosity isn't it? Personally I'd try and have a look through his current phone
