to be furious at my children being described like this

Apparently they are 'ill-raised, ignorant and aggressive' because I am a single parent.

All I can say is I am extremely proud of them for overcoming my apparent short comings as a parent and achieving so much despite it.

@spacepyramid
Do you not think it’s similar to KH decrying anyone naming their children after countries? They seem to forget they are those very people

1Micem0use · 28/11/2019 22:33

I'm a qualified and experienced teacher, but apparently being single suddenly means I lose all of my behaviour management skills, and cant raise one child right?

pinkstripeycat · 28/11/2019 22:34

What a ridiculous statement. My mum was a single parent and I think turned out ok. There are plenty of people who were brought up by 2 parents who are ignorant and aggressive

Tolleshunt · 28/11/2019 22:35

Shows epic levels of hubris, doesn’t it, ivykaty

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/11/2019 22:38

There are loads of reAsons why women or indeed men could be single parents.
Women/men who are getting beaten up every night are supposed to stay in an abusive relationship to please BJ. Then when they do Social Service call it a Safe guarding issue and swoop in, so which is it, because they cAnt have it both ways and The Government must set the rules for SS to follow and implement
Rape- Does he expect a women to marry her rapist
Death of a partner
ONS. This is the RW and They do happen. Not every baby is conceived on bed making covered in rose petals after eating strawberries and drinking the finest champagne. We’re living in 2019 not 1920
Or simply (like me)through choice. I had my reasons.
People will still be out there voting for the wank stain, though won’t they. A lot of single mothers too I don’t doubt. Too many turkeys love Christmas, for some reason.

“My ill raised ignorant and aggressive son is more of a man than BJ will ever be and he hasn't even hit puberty yet.”

My hamster’s more of a man than BJ and that’s a girl!!!

mbosnz · 28/11/2019 22:39

My friend has three degrees, in teaching, law and commerce. She is single handledly raising her two children. Who are well fed, well educated (obviously) and going to be a positive contribution to society..

He apparently doesn't even have a handle on how many bloody children he has.

Pillock.

Bluntness100 · 28/11/2019 22:39

And yet you replied

You need to explain your point . Not wishing to deflect, but watching a thread with amusement and responding are two very different things.

I've no desire to stick up for Boris, although I will vote for him, why should I deflect?. I don't care enough, as said it's the same hard left posters on each of these threads all saying the same shit to each other and agreeing with each other. Every time.

I'm more than happy to let you all at it, watch with amusement and comment as and when, no need for me to deflect. I'm not his mum, and let's all be honest, The polls speak for themselves..which is what's causing all this desperation.

user1471510720 · 28/11/2019 22:42

Oh here we go, find a quote written years ago like you could on any other leader and cry like a baby. Grow up!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/11/2019 22:46

@user1471510720. Is that you, Boris.

user1471510720 · 28/11/2019 22:47

No it’s your mum

Louise91417 · 28/11/2019 22:50

Im not taking it personal at all what bj said 25years ago, i am a single mother, my dc are neither ignorant or aggressive so why would i get worked up over that remark..it doesnt apply to me!

MustardScreams · 28/11/2019 22:51

Grow up? When the most powerful man in the UK calls your children aggressive and ill-raised it’s not about growing up.

It cuts to the bone. I didn’t plant on falling in love with someone that would hit me in the face with a hot iron. I didn’t plan on falling pregnant because I was so mentally unwell I didn’t take my pill. I didn’t plan on being a single mother.

I am trying my fucking hardest to raise my dd to care and respect for others. Being blamed for shite parenting (couples included) is utterly disgusting. I’m doing my best, being single doesn’t change that.

Tories out.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/11/2019 22:54

Well she must have got up out of her urn.
She’s been dead for 4 yearsHmm.
Go and play with your bezzie Boris

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 28/11/2019 22:56

All those so keen to give dear Boris a pass because it was so long ago that he said those dreadful things, here is a list of more recent offensive opinions. He may well have done a complete 180 since those far off times but reading this list...somehow I doubt it.

Wasn’t it him who also called Muslin women
Letterboxes. Angry

Actionhasmagic · 28/11/2019 23:00

Yanbu

mbosnz · 28/11/2019 23:00

A politician should at the very least, be a person of the people. If they cannot manage that very bear basic, I worry. I would not vote for them. I worry about those who do.

Let's not forget where the word 'politician' comes from.

LaurieMarlow · 28/11/2019 23:02

The polls speak for themselves..which is what's causing all this desperation.

Well I don’t see why we’re not allowed to despair at the polls. I have no doubt he will win a majority.

I am depressed beyond belief that the people of this country would vote for the witless shitbag and misogyny, elitism, and moral baseness that he represents. That apparently includes you.

Drabarni · 28/11/2019 23:03

I'm labour through and through, but he has a point about marrying the state and men being useless.
The rest is utter shite though.

We'd need far less tax payers money for all sorts of benefits if men weren't allowed to disown their responsibility. There should be laws to stop men from doing this, tough if they can't afford a new family, look after the existing one first.
Whilst society (women) let them behave like this they will, we need to be turned off the feckless not be the next in line to become yet another single parent.

rwalker · 28/11/2019 23:05

There's an element of truth to some of it, but like everything in life you can't apply it to everyone and there will always be opposite ends of the spectrum .
You can choose to be furious and offended but doubt he was talking about you and your children personally .

Yestermost · 28/11/2019 23:06

It's weird dismissing it as he said it years ago. Amazing 25 years ago or in all the intervening years I have never managed to say anything as disgusting and rude as this. I've also never been racist, misogynistic, unfaithful to a partner, fired from a job or failed to parent a child. Sadly unlike our vile PM.

Notodontidae · 28/11/2019 23:08

What nonsense, next thing we will find out that he got into trouble for taking a custard cream without asking his mum when he was 8YO
He only became PM because MPs decided to go against the democratic vote, made by the people.

tangled2 · 28/11/2019 23:10

It's amazing the mental gymnastics some people will attempt to justify why they are still willing to support this shitbag 🙄

It wasn't an off the cuff remark, overheard at some event. He wrote it, and published it. He means it.

Drabarni · 28/11/2019 23:11

Yes, the element of truth is that some men are utter shites with no moral compass, they go from one woman to another sometimes three women and produce children with all three.
Some women are quite happy to be a part of this and think they have a good man and of course he'll be better with her.

How many threads from women complaining about how they are treated as a step parent
How many say dh has 3 and I have 2 from previous, here's always a problem with the man.
Yes, they are second hand rejects and an ex for a reason.

Tolleshunt · 28/11/2019 23:13

It's amazing the mental gymnastics some people will attempt to justify why they are still willing to support this shitbag 🙄

I know!!! Fucking mind-boggling. It’s not as though Corbyn is the only other option, either.

And don’t get me started on those people who don’t want Brexit, but then say they’ll vote Tory in the election. 🤦‍♀️
