to be furious at my children being described like this

Apparently they are 'ill-raised, ignorant and aggressive' because I am a single parent.

All I can say is I am extremely proud of them for overcoming my apparent short comings as a parent and achieving so much despite it.

My ill raised aggressive 21year old dd wouldn't wipe her nose on that wobbly wanker and she is an RNLI volunteer who saves lives.

curlykaren · 28/11/2019 21:22

His parents might be proud of him, his siblings little less so.

curlykaren · 28/11/2019 21:23

*a little less

InfiniteSheldon · 28/11/2019 21:24

Bloody hell it's getting desperate digging up stuff he said 25 years ago

Everytimeref · 28/11/2019 21:24

So it's ok to continually mention everything that Corbyn allegedly done in the past to prove he is unfit to be PM but something Boris wrote 25years ago is to old to mention or discuss.
Typical Tory hypocrisy.

itsnotperfectbutwellgetthere · 28/11/2019 21:26

I don’t see what is awful about men paying for the children they father.

Livelovebehappy · 28/11/2019 21:27

Jeez... this happened 25 years ago. Absolutely scraping the barrel here. If we want to go down that route I guess we could reference Corbyn’s friendship with senior members of the IRA back in the 80’s/90’s when they were bombing innocent people, something he still refuses to condemn today.

raskolnikova · 28/11/2019 21:27

25 years ago Boris Johnson was a 30 year old man. Why is what he said irrelevant because of the passage of time? Do you think he thinks differently now?

PortiaCastis · 28/11/2019 21:30

Well praps we're sick of the Corbyn smear campaign and the dirt will be dug up in retaliation. The other side can also muck rake and serves bojo right

churchandstate · 28/11/2019 21:30

It doesn’t matter what Corbyn did or didn’t do. Johnson is being scrutinised as the man most likely to be PM. People are entitled to judge him based on any criteria they like.

Butterisbest · 28/11/2019 21:31

Gosh, what a surprise. Another Boris bashing thread, I'm shocked

Ignoremeiaminvisible · 28/11/2019 21:32

Butterisbest. Why?

FriedasCarLoad · 28/11/2019 21:38

Anyone else noticed the sheer abundance of odd fanatical labour posts on this site recently? Anyone would think there was some form of orchestrated underhand social media campaign to try to get some votes

It’s right to shed light on these types of comments. Just as it’s right to shed light on some of the awful things Corbyn and others have said.

I think I find this comment (even in the context of his hypocritical behaviour since writing it) slightly less offensive, on balance, than paying tribute to terrorists who murdered innocent athletes, but I’m no fan of either.

AnotherNightWatering · 28/11/2019 21:40

Frankly, I can't stand Johnson and am not voting for his party.

However, I despair when I see that the best the Labour Party seems to be able to do is to dredge up old stories to discredit him. He's already discredited, yet is still ahead in the polls...

To defeat him, the Labour Party needs convincing policies and a decent leader, not what appears to be an orchestrated campaign with these bashing threads.

saraclara · 28/11/2019 21:41

I hate Boris Johnson with a vengeance. But I think the media dredging up 25 year old statements is often counter-productive.

mumwon · 28/11/2019 21:42

I reckon the comment were autobiographic (though I don't know about his mothers marital status - but hey - everybody is entitled to one mistake, namely her not using contraception 9 months before he was born) Doesn't that prat realize that a majority of single mothers were once in what they assumed were permanent relationships/marriages? A

fromdownwest · 28/11/2019 21:42

When JC and DA made comments condoning a terrorist organisation years ago, they need to be forgotten as that was in the past, when BJ does it, the world ends..

LaurieMarlow · 28/11/2019 21:46

Yet a majority of people in this country are lining up to vote for this witless shitbag as their leader.

YANBU OP. It’s fucking tragic.

LaurieMarlow · 28/11/2019 21:47

Another Boris bashing thread, I'm shocked

Well he gives us all copious ammunition, what the fuck do you expect?

JeffreeStar · 28/11/2019 21:47

I agree with him, sorry but the state isn’t responsible for provide an income for people who have kids they can’t afford.

LaurieMarlow · 28/11/2019 21:48

I agree with him

Oh hai Katie Hopkins. How are you doing?

DarkDarkNight · 28/11/2019 21:49

What he means of course is a certain type of single parent. He and his millionaire friends can produce as many ‘illegitimate’ children as they want. It’s only the Children of single mothers like me who are ill-raised Angry. He is unspeakably awful.

NovemberDays · 28/11/2019 21:50

This is honestly not worth the time of day - just look at his own behaviour.

Single parent of two DC here; DD got straight A’s in her exams, DS said that Boris Johnson is ‘not a fit man to be prime minister’, so both are clearly sensible and not ignorant.

NovemberDays · 28/11/2019 21:51

*whereas I am ignorant because I have placed an apostrophe in the wrong place

spacepyramid · 28/11/2019 21:54

However, I despair when I see that the best the Labour Party seems to be able to do is to dredge up old stories to discredit him.

I am not the Labour Party though, I'm a single parent who is furious about the way he is describing children.
